The only way to know the strength of God is to take the yoke of Jesus upon us and learn of Him.

From Matthew 11:29:  “Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Morning’s Delight

Central Ohio’s Walnut Woods Metro Park is located a short drive from my home.  I frequently walk the park, and a recent one inspires this poem.  Enjoy these photos taken back in April, 2019.

Sunrise greets another morning walk.

Alarm clock spurring

Nature park invites

Sweet song birds stirring

This morning’s delight

Sunrise opens sky

Clouds sliding away

Welcomes this Buckeye

Creation’s ballet

Quiet moments smile

Spirit walks each trail

Partner with each mile

Fresh air to inhale

Life’s cherished highlights

Blessed start to day

Nature’s revered sights

Moments filled with play

Joyful heart, rejoice

Walk comes to its end

Creation’s brisk voice

Morning’s steady friend

Tranquil spring morning along Walnut Creek.

Morning’s Promise

From Lamentations 3:22-23 :  “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

Spiritual sunrise

Grief stricken for three days

Tomb open and empty

God fulfills Word, ablaze

All of creation sings

Rejoice in faith’s Good News

Risen Christ conquers death

God rejects evil’s ruse

Morning’s promise brings truth

Resurrection affirms

Prophetic Scripture scenes

God shares love, grace confirms

From darkness, world bends knees

Redemption offers peace

Savior pays debts in full

God ensures life’s new lease

From Psalm 105:4-5:  “Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His presence continually.  Remember the wonderful works He has done, His miracles, and the judgments He has uttered.”

The evidence of God’s great power is all over your life.  Live confidently, knowing our loving, omnipotent God dwells within you.

From Psalm 16:11:  You show Me the path of life.  In your presence there is fullness of joy; in your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

Monday Memories: Embracing Our Golden Years

From Proverbs 16:31:  “Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life.”

Watching television, what is so wrong?

Proclaiming vitality, glowing youth

Idolizing outward beauty and more

Turning down the chatter, looking for truth

Savoring this life’s fertile, golden years

Knocking at the door, God’s Word always clear

Finding our inner beauty, filled with love

Embracing the later years, without fear

Assuring us of our Lord’s divine plan

Receiving far more than we can afford

Propelling us forward, with Jesus near

Guiding our daily walk, by His accord

Gaining beauty from our relationships

Discovering family love each day

Restoring our energy with these gifts

Growing closer to our Lord as we pray

Sharing our wisdom and experience

Bringing opportunities, we also grow

Living as role models in God’s spirit

Opening new pages, as blessings flow

Mount Rushmore Presidents Quotes

Mount Rushmore National Monument is located in South Dakota’s Black Hills.  The sculptured figures of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln stand watch.

George Washington (1789-1797)

Happiness depends more upon the internal frame of a person’s own mind, than the externals in the world.

Thomas Jefferson (1801-1809)

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
