From Psalm 29:3-4: “The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord, over mighty waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.”

Life’s calmest seas
Facing coming storms
Never alone
In His midst, strength forms
From God, our hope
Reaching out His hand
Safely sheltered
Upon His command
Witness His peace
Quieting these waves
Triumphant’s might
Father’s grace shall serve
Darkness retreats
Hearing comfort’s voice
Glory thunders
All saints will rejoice
Mercy rescues
Breathing with God’s love
Everlasting
Blessings from above

The lyrics and music of “O God, Our Help in Ages Past” is a familiar hymn to many. Inspired by Psalm 90, the lyrics were composed by English hymn writer and theologian, Isaac Watts, in 1708.
Beautiful post! I LOVE the way the Bible describes God’s voice in various passages, powerful ways…or even as a “whisper” or “whistle”. Blessings to you ❤

Zelda, thanks for sharing more. Awesome and inspiring phrase! In our faith journey, we have one gift to pursue with passion . . . Jesus!

Exactly!! I’ll be doing a post soon about “words/phrases for the year”–and my precious altar Rock collection. I’m keeping you in suspense, haha! 🙂 By the way, is it okay to quote you, with credit? I’d love to feature your: “In our faith journey…one gift to pursue…Jesus!”

Okay, it took me stretching my brain a bit…I wanted your quote on the main (Right side) widget area, but that didn’t work (apparently my theme doesn’t have enough space there). So, I was able to put it in a different widget–and now it can be seen following the “Leave a Reply”(Comment box) on Each Post.
Is that acceptable to you? To me it seems that might be better…since not everyone reads “widgets”, but they can hardly miss it if they go to the bottom of a post.
However, if you like, I’ll try to experiment with other widget possibilities–if there are any. I wanted it very visible because it’s a 5-Star quote that resonates in my heart–I’m just having some “tech-savvy” issues 🙂 Take a look when you have time, and let me know what you think. Huge blessings to you! 💖

Susan, I appreciate you picking up on “hearing comfort’s voice.” Sometimes it helps to step away from a project for a bit, then the Lord shines His light. Blessings to your own creative spirit, God is near!

“Darkness retreats hearing Comfort’s voice”…the words are beautiful. I love the hymn too, Richard. Music speaks to me. What a beautiful Psalms (and my mind works in strange ways as after my hymn my mind went to one of my favorites, “The Sound of Music”…it all set the stage for my imagination!)!

Karla, I appreciate your thoughts. There is a feeling of magic in those mountains in the video of the hymn, and “The Sound of Music” is a great metaphor.
