Distant clap of thunder
Pausing as if on cue
Cloudy skies breaking free
Nightly reflections coo
At first, hearing silence
Nature turns on her spell

Moon serenades landscape
Harmony’s silent creek

Shrouded in darkness
Surrounded with gloom
World living with sin
Light beams from death’s tomb
Found in Father’s Word
Filled with His Good News
Enduring light shines
Life’s anchor, now choose
Blessed kingdom waits
Focused light brings more
Seeing faithful road
Jesus, faith’s mentor
Lighted lamp confirms
Revealed through His grace
Lamb bears every sin
Jesus takes our place
Harvested mercy

Morning thunderstorm
Followed with rain’s gentleness—
Summer’s welcome pause
Ripened, golden fields
Filling nation’s breadbasket—
Ready for harvest
Autumn’s dry stream beds
Snow falling on mountaintops—
Spring’s blessed run-off

Intimate relationships
No longer standing back
Feeling love as He speaks
Our Lord loves each of us

In seasons of trial or abundance–and we’ll likely experience both, even simultaneously–we can cling to Him and trust that He is the source of all courage, perseverance, and abiding joy.
