Sun-drenched blue skies return
Wind’s breathe begins to play
Treetops sway high above
Sunlight dances below
Mighty forest whispers
Nature offers free show
Divine calmness now felt
Peace arrives, plays her cards
Another perfect hand
Harmony won’t discard
Morning’s song welcomes all
Unique with every line
Spirit adds final touch
Melody always shines
Tempting much too early
Overflowing thoughts stir
Life’s background music plays
Traveling to Big Sur
Remembering darkness
Transforming to moonlight
Memories play again
Rising from calmest night
Filling empty bucket
Pondering this new day
Distant dawn now teases
Opening mind to play

Nearby thicket sings

Calm shower transcends

Now, down periscope

Transition’s chorus sings
Timid flora bravely stirs
Pushing up, not by chance

Craving season’s flavor
Looking toward summer
More blessings to savor
Morning can always be counted on to bring us back to a more realistic level.
Life is an unanswered question, but let’s still believe in the dignity and importance of the question.
Tennessee Williams (1911-1983) was an American playwright and screenwriter. His written contributions to dramatic productions are evident in classics such as “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” and “A Streetcar Named Desire.”
The inspiration for this poem comes from a photograph published on Jan’s blog in her “Wordless Wednesday” post. There is probably a hint (yes, definitely) of the rustic and tranquil life experienced in the small communities of western Montana.

Picturesque, isolated hamlet
Resting below mountainous shadows
Nestled along lake’s calming fingers
Life’s narrative writing tranquil prose
Sunrise crawls over the mountaintop
Cruising silently in their small boat
Early to rise anglers find their spot
Baiting hooks for trout with rainbow coats
Soon village shops begin to open
Curious shoppers fill crowded streets
Welcoming Farmers’ Market today
Locals selling homegrown goods and treats
Later, stillness returns to the town
Sunny, summer day comes to an end
Sun setting behind lake’s dozing shore
Waiting for tomorrow’s best friends
