Love’s Lasting Imprint

From Psalm 9:1-2:  “I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your wonderful deeds  I will be glad and exult in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.”

From Psalm 9:9-10:  “The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.  And those who know Your name put their trust in You, for You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.”

Single Voice

Photo by Polina Kovaleva on Pexels.com

Facing overwhelming odds

Single voice stating its case

Stepping out from shelter’s light

Today, darkness loses race

Standing alone with courage

At last, time for change arrives

Trampling down twisted darkness

Today, faithful light survives

Clinging to truth’s conviction

Multitude of pain erased

Extinguishing all darkness

Today, humble light embraced

Understanding life’s purpose

Human rights boldly proclaim

Recalling depth of darkness

Today, light forgives all blame

Learning from history’s past

Actions taking direct route

Offering nation new light

Today, darkness falls—no doubt

History has amplified the single voices shown below as a testament to taking a stand, respecting the value fellow man, and putting others above self.  Top left and moving clockwise:  1989, Tank Man stopped tanks at Tiananmen Square in China; 1877, Nez Perce Chief Joseph surrendered to American cavalry near Bear Paw Mountains in Montana Territory; 1955, Rosa Parks refused to give up her front seat on a segregated bus in Montgomery, Alabama; 1930, Mahatma Gandhi led peaceful protest during India’s Salt March; 1945, Anne Frank used her diary’s voice as her final witness of living under the brutality of war.  (All photos courtesy of Pinterest)

For all who thirst

Come to blessed waters

Now follow carefully

Every son and daughter

Listen with care

Abundance of hope waits

Covenant’s faithful love

Key found to Heaven’s gate

Witness David

Leadership born in him

All for Father’s glory

Faith’s light shall never dim

Truth from Heaven

Look toward Savior’s grace

No longer forsaken

Trust brings us to His place

Return to God

Leave each unrighteous thought

Sin’s indictment erased

Messiah’s blood has bought

Embrace His way

Mercy looks upon earth

Thorns transformed into blooms

Anchored at Spirit’s berth

Monday Memories: Redeeming Spirit

From Isaiah 12:2:  “Surely God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid, for the Lord God is my strength and my might; He has become my salvation.”

To a world filling with harsh darkness

Our Heavenly Father wakens trust

God’s love conquers, crushing this starkness

Sending our Redeemer, always just

Jesus, the Messiah, walks the land

His Spirit deepens our mind and soul

We experience God, close at hand

Blood shed on a Cross, paying our toll

With every footprint Jesus makes

Walking forward, His bright light beckons

We follow with faith, make no mistake

Through our adversity, faith checks in

Enemy lurks, bringing temptation

Walking with Jesus, freed like a bird

In alignment with Him . . . Salvation!

Faithful “doers” of God’s Holy Word

From Psalm 3:3-4:  “But you, O Lord are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.  I cry aloud to the Lord, and He answers me from His Holy hill.”

All Rejoice

From Mark 5:27-29:  “She had heard about Jesus and came up behind Him in the crowd and touched His cloak, for she said, ‘If I but touch His cloak, I will be made well.’  Immediately her flow of blood stopped, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease.”

Bluest Sky

Morning’s “Big Sky” roams over the valley near Livingston, Montana.

Harmony drops in

Lifting spirits high

Waking from slumber

Morning’s bluest sky

Valley’s faithful river

Unending with peace

Flowing with wisdom

Comforts never cease

Sun brightens flashbacks

Counting former days

Energizing with joy

Ready now to play

Time injects stillness

Billowing with clouds

Yielding blessed shade

Whispers never loud

Heaven’s love singing

Blessing life below

Extending day’s light

Nature now aglow

Montana’s Madison River tirelessly flows toward the community of Ennis.

Hope in Godliness

From 1 Timothy 6:6-8:  “Of course, there is great gain in godliness combined with contentment, for we brought nothing into the world, so that we can take nothing out of it, but if we have food and clothing, we will be content with these.”

Waking to another day

Spurning Father’s safety rope

This world demands perfection

Without Heaven’s faithful hope

Feeling pressure with each step

Witnessing ungodliness

Imperfect world falling apart

Father’s hope in godliness

Slowing down journey’s high speed

Pausing to count each blessing

Hope pursues His righteousness

Father’s truth now addressing

Discovering contentment

Filling hope with timely grace

Senseless desires abandoned

Father’s peace comes to embrace

Cherishing Oneness in hope

Sending trusted Light to bear

Forgiveness from divine Rock

Father’s Son shall truly care

From 1 Timothy 6:13-14:  “ In the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who in His testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you to keep the commandment without spot or blame until the manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
