Every day we live is a priceless gift of God, loaded with possibilities to learn something new, to gain fresh insights.
From Isaiah 43:18-19: “Do not remember the former things or consider the things of old. I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth; do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
Dale Evans (1912-2001) was an American actress, singer, and songwriter. She also just happened to be married to one of the most famous of Hollywood cowboys, Roy Rogers.
From 2 Peter 3:13: “But, in accordance with His promise, we wait for new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness is at home.”
Lifetime of building
Man’s labors seem so bold
Smallish enterprises
Growing fragile and old
Christ’s building schemes last
Any cost, He equips
Trusted enterprises
Growing discipleship
Eternity calls
Grace building rescue’s net
Savior’s enterprises
Liquidating sin’s debts
Christ, building for more
Faith’s stalwart cornerstone
Righteous enterprises
Shaping mankind’s backbone
Passionate spirit
Every consuming fire
Heaven’s enterprises
Built, never to expire
This poem was influenced from these words of Scottish evangelist and Christian teacher, Oswald Chambers: “Jesus takes us over for His enterprises, His building schemes entirely, and no soul has any right to claim where he shall be put.”

Taking up my “cross” means a life voluntarily surrendered to God.
From Luke 9:23: “Then He said to them all, ‘If any wish to come after Me, let them deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow Me.'”
Arthur Walkington (A. W.) Pink (1886-1952) was an English Bible teacher and Christian writer. Following his death, many of his writings were well-received by readers. This turnabout established him as an influential evangelical author.

Nicknamed “Old Dominion,” the state of Virginia offers a rich history and fascinating attractions.
Here are a few quick facts about Virginia:
As one of the original thirteen English colonies settled by England, Virginia was named after Queen Elizabeth I, who was called the Virgin Queen. In 1607, Jamestown became the first permanent English settlement in America. As a royal colony under English governance, the colonial governor was chosen by the crown.
Virginia is the birthplace of eight American Presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, William Henry Harrison, John Tyler, Zachary Taylor, and Woodrow Wilson. The state is sometimes referred to as the “Mother of Presidents.”
One of Virginia’s most historic areas to visit includes the College of William and Mary, which was founded in 1693. It is the second oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. Only Harvard University is older.
The home of America’s first President is found in northern Virginia along the Potomac River. George Washington’s estate of Mount Vernon is found in Fairfax County.
Many people plan a visit to Arlington National Cemetery, which is a military cemetery maintained by the U.S. Army. It was founded in 1864, and approximately 400,000 people are interned on its 639 acres.

Richard E. Byrd (1888-1957) was an American naval officer, aviator, and explorer of both polar regions. He was born in Westchester, Virginia.
