Maturity and freedom come when believers completely surrender to God and rely on His strength.

From Hebrews 5:12-14:  “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic elements of the oracles of God.  You need milk, not solid food, for everyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is unskilled in the word of righteousness.  But solid food is for the mature, for those whose faculties have been trained by practice to distinguish good from evil.”

Surrender your mind to the Lord at the beginning of each day.

From Isaiah 50:4:  “The Lord God has given me a trained tongue, that I may know how to sustain the weary with a word.  Morning by morning He wakens, wakens my ear to listen as those who are taught.”

When God asks us to surrender our will to His, it’s our job to trust He will show us the way.

From Proverbs 3:5-6:  “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”

There must be complete and unqualified reliance on the Living Lord.  In other words, one must develop the discipline of surrender.

From Psalm 62:5:  “For God alone my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from Him.”
