If my life is surrendered to God, all is well.  Let me not grab it back, as though it were in peril in His hand but would be safer in mine!

From Psalm 34:19:  “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord rescues them from them all.“

Elisabeth Elliot (1926-2015) was a Christian author and speaker.  She and her husband, Jim, spent time as missionaries in Ecuador.

  1. Don’t we do that all the time? At least, I do. I give God a burden and then I take it back and just decide to shoulder it myself for a while. Then, when it gets too heavy again, I give it back to God. He wanted me just to leave it with Him.
