Savior willingly gathers
Free to now travel

America’s observation of Veterans Day lies ahead on November 11. As a nation gathers to honor anyone, past or present, who has served in uniform, may we remember and embrace our nation’s past.
Gathering for common good
Willing to make each sacrifice
Citizens answer country’s needs
Giving of themselves, any price
Putting aside differences
Deflating emotion’s sandbag
Spirit of Founding Fathers calls
Rallying around nation’s flag
Responding with efforts as one
Replenishing each empty soul
Tattered Old Glory proudly waves
Serving abroad, endless patrols
Overcoming every challenge
Witnessing each morning sunrise
Fears replaced with collective faith
Rising freedom fills daily skies
Bridging Lexington to Yorktown
Stepping up at Gettysburg’s fight
Battles from Marne to Normandy
Leading democracy’s daylight
From Psalm 118:24: “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
Each morning sunrise
Father’s gift to thee
Heaven’s brilliant skies
Mercy offers free
Coffee friends meeting
Father gathers all
Grace pours out greetings
Kindness fills each y’all
Kitchen’s window view
Father sharing peace
Each tender fescue
Life’s renewing lease
From each faithful seed
Father’s blessed prize
Harvest’s bounty feeds
Thoughts forever wise
Day’s fading sunset
Father always here
Night’s trusted cornet
Rhythm always clear
From Psalm 42:8: “By day the Lord commands His steadfast love, and at night His song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life.”
Fall’s invitation
Fulfilling countryside drive—
Witnessing brilliance
Autumn’s gifted day
Shaping life before our eyes—
Mum’s changing colors
Tree-lined avenue
Passing cars stirring up leaves—
Landscape swirls about
Witnessing an early morning rain inspires the visions for this poem. It is amazing how a view through an open window can bring forth images to write from.

Replenishing parched, barren land
Serenity’s rain, from God’s hand
Quenching desert’s eternal thirst
Nature smiling, joy now disbursed
Nourishing life with loving pride
Flora and fauna, at God’s side
Touching each leaf, stems from God’s love
Hues of green, colored from above
Singing with praise, birds bless this scene
Creation glowing, dazzling sheen
Sharing splendor, feeling at peace
Morning rain, grants life a new lease
Listening closely, hearing now
God’s serenity, takes a bow

Morning gathering
Hearing Christ’s invite
Come now, rest a spell
Witnessing His delight
Tasting each morning
Sweetness of His grace
Reading Father’s Word
Peace fills this very place
Blessed morning time
Taking faithful walk
Christ offers His love
Trusting salvation’s rock
Finding morning’s truth
Gospel’s foundation
Maturing in faith
Father’s new creation
Tomorrow morning
Gathering again
Precious time with Christ
Praising His lasting reign

Tomb empty
Many questions abound
Voice speaking with answers
Messiah
Walking
Emmaus Road
Shattered in darkness
Stranger shares His peace
Savior
Disciples
Confused, alone
Appearing among them
“Peace be with you”
Jesus
Weekend rains offer pause
Autumn’s final harvest on hold
Testing farmers’ patience
Temperatures fall, growing cold
Another falling leaf
Afternoon’s cheery cup of tea
Looking through window’s glass
Visions of backyard’s empty tree
Book’s bold invitation
Immersed within mystery’s plot
Welcoming each minute
Story plunges with missing yacht
Day’s gentle, soothing peace
Lost in memories, freshly found
Feeling blessed with each gem
Past wants to hang around
Nightfall now closes in
Rain drizzling, without pause
Hearing silence unwind
Weekend’s spirit cuddles nonstop
From John 10:10-11: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.”
Father almighty
Designing redemption’s plan
Actions never by chance
Good Shepherd, faith’s steady helmsman
Shepherd’s faith searches
Teaching His flock, hear My voice
Actions never by chance
Heavenly angels shall rejoice
Angelic choir sings
Rising from cold, empty tomb
Actions never by chance
Redeemer’s grace faithfully blooms
Redeemer sheds blood
Forgiving each transgression
Actions never by chance
Father blesses without question
Father’s greatest love
Offering His only Son
Actions never by chance
Forever, His will shall be done
From John 3:16-17: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish but may have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world but in order that the world might be saved through Him.”
