Life’s journey hurries along

Blessing with joy and her song

Remembering His blessings each day

Our mighty God molds us like clay

God crafts His creation with love

Offering His blessings from above

Rising from cold, darkened tomb

Christ restores light to every room

Filling with Spirit, no more strife

Savior extends His bread of life

Hiding, dark enemy ready to harm and take

Christ’s way conquers, with love He makes

Son of Man submits to our Holy Lord

Paying for sin’s ransom, so climb aboard

Being gracious for everything that shines

God, Savior, family, home, and love so fine

Life’s possessions are meager, they are

Blessings from God will carry us, truly far

Pause and consider, dropping to knees and bow

Praising God for infinite blessings, do it now

Psalm 29:11:  May the Lord give strength to His people!  May the Lord bless His people with peace.”

At the Door

Jesus stands ready

He understands life

With its hardships

He’s walked there

Experiencing it all

His body bears

Marks of death

Hands forever scarred

Feet harshly pierced

He defeated death

Empty tomb proclaims

He understands thee

Life’s never-ending turmoil

He offers hopefulness

Encouraging and loving

His reassuring voice

Calming all worries

Life’s sufferings appear

Generating lasting tenacity

Trusting in Him

Rock of Salvation

Sending steadfast love

From heaven above

Faithful and righteous

Extending into Eternity

Never be afraid

Always trust Him

Hearing His words

Praising and soothing

Giving peaceful strength

Against harsh times

Here are two other Christian-based poems that have been previously published from a few months ago.

Weary Soul

Waking up, feeling all worn out

Nothing to even say or shout

Fearing the day ahead

Should I stay in bed?

Nudging myself to move

Where is today’s groove?

Walking over to the table

Will I honestly feel able?

Feeling a cool, gentle breeze

From a window, brings a need

Turning Bible pages to a spot

Now God’s words find its dot

Speaking to me, comes a Savior

His words convey a new flavor

“Come to me, you are weary”

My eyes gaze tired and teary

“Your burdens are heavy, I see”

Jesus brings a time-out to thee

Christ remains patient and humble

Gathering me up when I stumble

He commands rest for weary souls

Easing a hefty load, much too full

Our Lord waits only a quick step away

His precious words bring plenty to say

Much of the inspiration for this poem comes from the Bible.  The precious words spoken by our Savior Jesus proclaim from Matthew 11:28-30.

“Come to me, all you that are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Heavenly Message

When I stumble

My body tumbles

Weakness fills me

Not worthy to see

Attempting to move

Just not in my groove

People walk right by

None saying even “hi”

Ignoring me there

Silence never fair

Feeling so much alone

Picking up my phone

Finding short text to read

Responding to my needs

Standing up now

Kneeling to bow

The message sustains

No, I’m not to blame

“My brother, rise up thee

Now, always follow me”

Jesus!

We Have a Friend

Yes, we have no better friend than you

What we have is special and very true

We possess a dear friend in Jesus, our Savior

He comes down to us, bringing abundant favor

Our Lord descends to earth with His human face

His Son comes to bring salvation from rich grace

Yes, we have no better friend than Christ, the King

He washes white our sinful nature that now stings

God’s son walks ahead of us to the solitary Cross

His journey brings generous hope for all of the lost

He heals the sick and His words speak truth

His family tree goes through David and Ruth

Yes, we have no better friend than Jesus

His wise words reach out to each of us

Today we bow down and take a knee

Our Father offers His grace for free

We all take up our own Cross and follow Christ

His salvation comes from God, filled with might

Yes, we have no better friend than our Lord

His rich blessings will bring all of us on board

As Christians, we most certainly have no better friend than Jesus, our Savior.  What inspires you to walk each day with our Lord?

Midnight Walk

Stirring from my deep sleep at midnight

Seeing someone moving in the dim light

Hearing a gentle voice whispering my name

Calling out, “Missing you has been a shame”

Recognizing that her gentle voice is familiar, not new

Appearing now, my beloved Grandma comes into view

Walking towards me, she carries no fear

Listening to a voice so true and very dear

Saying again that I’ve been deeply missed

Bowing down, my forehead receives a kiss

Remembering previous days with her brings a smile

Telling me kindly, let’s walk together now for awhile

Asking her a question, “Is it now my time?”

Replying back, “No, but you must climb”

Facing a wall that records each of my sins

Condemning me, comes Darkness again

Reaching down comes a firm, strong hand

Grabbing hold, my feet flee sinking sand

Gazing upward, my Grandma has departed and left

Taking her place arrives Christ, raised from death
