When our top priority is to please God with our life, we can expect treasure in heaven.

From Luke 12:20-21:  “But God said to him, ‘You fool!  This very night your life is being demanded of you.  And the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’  So it is with those who store up treasures for themselves but are not rich toward God.”

Teach us to set our hopes on Heaven, to hold firmly to the promise of eternal life, so that we can withstand the struggles and storms of this world.

From Colossians 1:5-6:  The faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel that has come to you.  In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world—just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace.”

Eternity’s Home

From John 14:2-3:  “In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places.  If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also.”

Yes, there awaits Heaven

Eternity’s home calls

Father waits, open arms

Steps without sinful falls

Heaven, Father’s true home

Good Shepherd’s gate, waiting

Believers’ dwelling seat

Beauty captivating

Home of joyful healing

Heaven’s firm foundation

Father’s masterful plan

Peaceful destination

Father lives in Jesus

Son of God lights His way

Heaven never shaken

Sin no longer finds prey

Into Father’s presence

At our Savior’s return

Death forever conquered

Heaven never adjourns

From Revelation 22:1-2:  “Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city.  On either side of the river is the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, producing its fruit each month, and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.”

Garden’s Fountain

From Song of Solomon 4:12:  “A garden locked is my sister, my bride, a garden locked, a fountain sealed.”

Heavenly garden, locked and closed

Eternal fountain, sealed and dry

Searching, Salvation’s hidden key

Faithless works, blinding sinful eyes

Body, soul, spirit in despair

Soul without spirit, dead to sin

Body without soul, starkest death

Life’s spirit, missing God’s linchpin

Holy Spirit, always at work

Lasting, heart-filled renovations

Infused into life’s coldest heart

Building restored soul’s foundation

Christ choreographs love-filled hearts

Breathing life into each saved soul

Lighting our way to Salvation

Father’s love leads to Christ’s patrol

Arriving at Heaven’s garden

Receiving its eternal key

Fountain flows with living water

Come rest under Salvation’s tree

From Song of Solomon 4:16:  “Awake, O north wind, and come, O south wind!  Blow upon my garden that its fragrance may be wafted abroad.  Let my beloved come to His garden, and eat its choicest fruits.”

In some sense the path to heaven is very safe, but in other respects there is no road so dangerous.

From Jude 1:24:  “Now to Him who is able to keep you from falling, and to make you stand without blemish in the presence of His glory.”

Heavenly Tranquility

The inspiration for this poem comes from a recent post from Leola who is an inspiring Christian writer and photographer.  Please visit her “Road Trip to Montreal” by way of the link below.  I thank her so much for allowing me to match her garden photography with my poetic words.

Life sometimes motors along much too fast

Leaving us hungry for something that lasts

A journey to a big city, feeling so alone

Thinking I should have stayed at home

I am not used to being in the big city, yes

Realizing my Lord has put me to this test

The final morning arrives, thank goodness

Dreaming of any place, filled with fullness

My morning walk takes me to a hidden place

Parking itself near a stadium, comes a taste

A botanical garden erupts with vibrant color

Blossoming the landscape, like none other

Colors of every imaginable shade and hue

Beholding God’s brilliance, eternally true

My eyes capture incredible memories that last

Experiencing heavenly tranquility, what a blast

God brought me here today for a special reason

Planning to share His love, no matter the season
