Faith is like an empty, open hand stretched out toward God, with nothing to offer and everything to receive.
From Ephesians 3:17-19: “And that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”
Seeing that a Pilot steers the ship in which we sail, who will never allow us to perish even in the midst of shipwrecks, there is no reason why our minds should be overwhelmed with fear and overcome with weariness.
From Psalm 55:22: “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permitthe righteous to be moved.”
All the blessings we enjoy are divine deposits, committed to our trust on this condition: that they should be dispersed for the benefit of our neighbors.
From 2 Corinthians 9:6-7: “The point is this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
