Scripture’s Truth

From 1 Corinthians 2:4-5:  “My speech and my proclamation were not with plausible words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might rest not on human wisdom but on the power of God.”

World full of deception

Most lack understanding

Man lives with blind spirit

God’s Word seeks soft landing

Father’s knowledge revealed

Prepared with divine love

Shared through Holy Spirit

From heaven’s depths above

Man’s spirit lacks vision

Missing truth of God’s Word

Pride hinders man’s access

Spirit’s teachings transferred

Filling man’s hungry mind

Scripture’s truth, Spirit brings

Living in mind of Christ

God’s wisdom always clings

From 1 Corinthians 2:12-13:  “Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit that is from God, so that we may understand the gifts bestowed on us by God.  And we speak of these things in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual things to those who are spiritual.”

John Eldredge Quote

If the narrative of the Scriptures teaches us anything, from the serpent in the Garden to the carpenter in Nazareth, it teaches us that things are rarely what they seem, that we shouldn’t be fooled by appearances.

From Proverbs 21:2:  “All deeds are right in the sight of the doer, but the Lord weighs the heart.”

Morning Time

Morning arrives before sunrise

Blessed calmness comforts life’s soul

Taking time to honor Father

His Word filling today’s payroll

Morning stillness quiets life’s heart

Time for prayer-filled reflection

Hot coffee and conversation

Blessing now Father’s connection

Morning always starting like this

Creature of life’s daily routine

Sharing special moments with Him

Just with Father, our special scene

Morning time ending much too fast

Father’s presence felt all day long

Confident and ready for more

Holding tight to His faithful song

Morning will return, always does

Looking forward to precious times

Father’s Spirit, life’s alarm clock

Moments filled with heavenly rhymes

This poem is inspired by my daily morning time in prayer and study with God’s Word.  This special time with my Heavenly Father has become more and more intertwined into my daily fabric.

To flourish and grow, a person must be completely dependent on Christ for spiritual nutrition.  That involves drawing near to Him each morning through His Word and prayer and receiving His Grace all day long.

From Isaiah 55:6-7:  “Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near; let the wicked forsake their way, and the unrighteous their thoughts; let them return to the Lord, that He may have mercy on them, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.”

Charles Stanley Quote

Scripture is a treasure trove of God’s thoughts.  Spend time there every day–starting today–to discover new truths and insights.

From 2 Timothy 3:16-17:  “All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work.”

Charles Spurgeon Quote

Nobody ever outgrows Scripture; the book widens and deepens with our years.

From 2 Timothy 3:16-17:  “All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work.”
