May the love found in Christ encourage each of us to be a timely beacon of hope’s light for others to witness.

Charles Swindoll Quote

God knows, right down to the final nub, exactly where you are in life.  He sees.  He cares.  He is aware.  And best of all, He is touched by it.

From Exodus 3:7:  “Then the Lord said, ‘I have observed the misery of My people who are in Egypt; I have heard their cry on account of their taskmasters.  Indeed, I know their sufferings.'”

Morning’s Gentle Spirit

Gray, overcast skies

Precious rain descends

Morning’s gentle spirit

Welcome back dear friend

Time’s hands standing still

Serenity shares

Fine mist of heaven’s grace

View from kitchen chair

Songbirds’ harmony

Nearby thicket sings

Always perfect pitch

Soft feather’s bowstring

Everlasting gift

Calm shower transcends

Sweetness cascading down

Thank you dearest friend

Grateful for this day

Filled with freshest hope

Morning calls, “Come again”

Now, down periscope

Joan Walsh Anglund Quotes

A bird doesn’t sing because he has an answer–he sings because he has a song.

Color is something we see with our eyes, but love is something we see with our heart.

Joan Walsh Anglund (1926-2021) was an American poet as well as a writer and illustrator of children’s books.

His Proven Ways

From Deuteronomy 10:12:  “So now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you?  Only to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.”

Facing yet another day

Father’s mercy offers hand

Overcoming each challenge

Solid ground covers sinking sand

Trusting path of wisdom’s light

Father’s Word guides each step

Escaping evil’s darkness

Destined for Calvary’s doorstep

Looking back at long journey

Father’s love fills wayward heart

Trading pride with humbleness

Hope renewing from faith’s restart

Embracing His proven ways

Father’s grace shining ahead

Resisting darkest shadows

Filled with Son’s everlasting bread

Blessing Savior’s righteous road

Father’s sovereignty leads

Offering bridge to follow

Blood of Christ saves each tender reed

From John 14:5-6:  “Thomas said to Him, ‘Lord, we do not know where You are going.  How can we know the way?’  Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.'”

Our Savior invites us to step away from trying and failing again and again to master God’s perfection.  His light will show us His way to His Father’s home.

Desmond Tutu Quote

Photo by cottonbro studio on Pexels.com

Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.

From Psalm 18:28:  “It is You who light my lamp; the Lord, my God, lights up my darkness.”

Desmond Tutu (1931-2021) was a South African Anglican bishop and Christian theologian.  He was perhaps best known for his efforts as a human rights activist in dismantling his nation’s system of apartheid.
