David Wilkerson Quote

Faith is not to get you out of a hard place but to change your heart in the hard place.

From Ezekiel 36:26:  “A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you, and I will remove from your body the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”

David Wilkerson (1931-2011) was an American evangelist, Christian author, and pastor.

Sharpening Each Thought

Winter’s fading breath

Discovering light

One final snowflake

Springtime taking flight

Winter pushed aside

Taking rest once more

Moved from nature’s shelf

Change coming ashore

Time bursting forward

Sharpening each thought

Landscape’s fresh colors

Lessons being taught

Young and old smiling

Finding spring abloom

Nature turns its page

Song fills every room

Daylight grows longer

Feeling warmth each day

April showers come

May flowers will stay

Life’s faithful rhythm

Rising overnight

Harmony fills hearts

Love found at first sight

If you want to be happy for life, love what you do.

Happiness is like mercury.  Hard to hold, and when we drop it, it shatters into a million pieces.  Maybe the bravest of all are those who have the courage to reach for it again.

Mary Higgins Clark (1927-2020) was an American writer of suspense novels.

Mercy’s Steadfast Rock

From Nehemiah 8:9:  “And Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, ‘This day is holy to the Lord your God; do not mourn or weep.’  For all the people wept when they heard the words of the law.”

Journey flowing with peace

Tasting God’s blessed Word

Faith’s truth shall never cease

Sending His grace, freshly stirred

Spirit lifts up God’s voice

Rising with morning sun

Trust’s blessed, hopeful choice

Delivering through His Son

Scripture filled with God’s law

Teaching with righteous breath

Hope grows, never withdraw

Bringing light, defeating death

Forgiveness floods each heart

Raising man’s salvation

Joy’s beloved restart

Praising faith’s new foundation

Unity found in Christ

Shepherding hope-filled flock

Debts paid, blood sacrificed

Grasping mercy’s steadfast rock

Charles Swindoll Quote

The common response to trials is resistance, if not outright resentment.  How much better that we open the doors of our hearts and welcome the God-ordained trials as honored guests for the good they do in our lives.

From 1 Peter 1:6-7:  “In this you rejoice, even if now for a little while you have had to suffer various trials, so that the genuineness of your faith—being more precious than gold that, though perishable, is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.”

Charles Swindoll (born 1934) is an American pastor and Christian author.
