Serenity Prayer (written by Reinhold Neibuhr)

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

From Philippians 4:6-7:  “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Reinhold Neibuhr (1892-1971) was an American theologian as well as a commentator on public affairs.  He was a professor at Union Theological Seminary for over 30 years.

Subtle barricades are sometimes nature’s way of moving one’s vision in a more refreshing direction.

Many adults feel that every children’s book has to teach them something.  My theory is a children’s book can be just for fun.

Sometimes to helps to scold yourself, to yourself advice.

R. L. (Robert Lawrence) Stine (born 1943) is an American author who hails from Columbus, Ohio.  His specialty is fiction for children and young adults.

If you seek to please men, you can never be a servant of the Lord.

From Psalm 100:1-2:  “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.  Serve the Lord with gladness; come into His presence with singing.”

Zac Poonen (born 1939) has been serving the Lord as a Christian Bible teacher for nearly 60 years in his home country of India.

Bountiful Grace

Photo by David Kanigan on Pexels.com

Evening’s darkness deepens

Silence now awakens

Nature never rests

While daylight feels forsaken

Gentle spirit’s exhale

Dreams stand ready to climb

Day now forgotten

Headlines swallowed up in time

Starlight scatters its dust

World seemingly asleep

Patience to unfold

Caught up in submerging deep

Harmony’s dawn rises

New day set to embrace

Morning shares goodness

Propelled by bountiful grace
