From Psalm 34:1-3:  “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.  My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad.  O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.”

Holy Deliverance

From Psalm 34:17-18:  “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and rescues them from all their troubles.  The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit.”

Praying for His guidance

Needing our Lord each day

Kneeling in humbleness

Love answers with His way

Troubles overtake thee

Confessing now to Him

Finding peace in Jesus

Blessings fill saintly hymns

Taste and see, God is good

Life’s every heartbeat

Casts temptation aside

Walking to His drumbeat

Departing from evil’s sin

Each day, every hour

Come, listen to Father

Grace fuels mighty power

Calvary’s cross beckons

Love’s road to salvation

Empty tomb proclaiming

Life’s faithful foundation

This poem’s message of “Holy Deliverance” is intensely felt through the singing of Chris Tomlin in “Lord, I Need You.”

Promised love, Holy Grace from God

Rejoice with glory to the Lord

His glad tidings unite our faith

Not forsaken, never ignored

Our Father’s Word offers new life

His caring hand touches each lamb

Rejoicing with Holy goodness

Everlasting joy, sweetest jam

Foundation of life, through our faith

Sharing the mantle of God’s love

Deliverance heals our spirit

God’s Glory, rejoicing above

Every breath exalts the Lord

Clothed in garments of salvation

Covered by robe of righteousness

Rejoice in Christ’s coronation

Deliverance from Troubles

The Bible offers a rich source of thanksgiving, hope, and deliverance as Psalm 107 inspires the text for this poem.

From Psalm 107:1-2:  “O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever.  Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, those He redeemed from trouble.”

Thanking our Lord above

Seeing His wondrous deeds

His Holy, steadfast love

All humankind, He leads

Overwhelming distress

Crying out to the Lord

Discovering His light

Living by His accord

Bringing us from darkness

Satisfying our thirst

Saving us with His light

Loving us, always first

Filling endless hunger

Breaking these sinful chains

Reaching out to His light

Trusting God, with the reins

Halting all wickedness

Calming all stormy winds

Healing us with His light

Forgiving dark-filled sins

Praising our Redeemer

Hearing cries, not ignored

Delivering His light

Giving thanks to our Lord

Thanking our Lord above

Seeing His wondrous deeds

His Holy, steadfast love

All humankind, He leads

From the words of American pastor and Christian author, Charles Swindoll:  “Circumstances occur that could easily crush us.  We can hand the circumstances to God and ask Him to take control or we can roll up our mental sleeves and slug it out.”

God Walks Ahead

From the words of Moses

Don’t fear, be unafraid

Our Lord will fight for us

Standing firm, comes His aid

Protecting evermore

God stands everlasting

Delivers from bondage

His love, full and lasting

Sending His Son to earth

Jesus’ footprints cry out

Step in line, follow me

His peace reigns, without doubt

Crying out to our Lord

Consumed by life’s furnace

Covered by eagles’ wings

Follow Him with sureness

Darkened tomb found empty

Jesus overcoming death

Knowing God’s in control

Stay faithful, with each breath

Father always with us

Never forsaking us

His hope, comforting us

Walking ahead of us

From Exodus 14:13-14:  “But Moses said to the people, ‘Do not be afraid, stand firm, and see the deliverance that the Lord will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you see today you shall never see again.  The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to keep still.'”

Praying for Deliverance

From Psalm 31:24:  “Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord.”

Immense weight of the world

Resting on our shoulders

Crying out to our Lord

Pebbles fall like boulders

Darkest thoughts undermine

Harshest mental torment

Hidden physical foes

Hopeless, stuck in cement

Our Lord hearing, He cares

Listening to whole hearts

Filling with confidence

Piercing conflict, like a dart

Forever with our Lord

His refuge, without fuss

His righteousness delivers

Strong fortress, saving us

Cities under fearful siege

Virus shadows each street

Lord, lead us and guide us

Your goodness won’t retreat

Our Father’s steadfast love

Covers our affliction

Blessed be our Lord God

Faith, hope . . . our conviction

Trusting in the Father

Facing vicious disease

Your face shines upon us

We pray upon our knees
