Jesus doesn’t remove all yokes; He exchanges our burdensome one for His “easy” one.

From Matthew 11:28-30: “Come to Me, all you who are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.”

Charles Stanley (1932-2023) was an American pastor and Christian writer.  He was dedicated to leading a teaching ministry.

Instead of worrying about what you cannot control, shift your energy to what you can create.

Help others without any reason and give without the expectation of receiving anything in return.

Monday Memories: His Presence Leading

From Psalm 88:1-2:  “O Lord, God of my salvation, when, at night, I cry out in your presence, let my prayer come before you; incline your ear to my cry.”

Photo by Torsten Kellermann on Pexels.com

Cold stillness greets early morning air

Dressed in armor’s extra warm layers

Pre-dawn speaks with inviting brightness

Heavenly Father answers prayers

Heart’s emptiness filled with sorrow’s grief

Walking life’s open road with brisk pace

Precious moments with Father’s goodness

He stands ready at this time and place

Frigid frost slaps rosy cheeks and nose

Step after step, life moving along

Chill penetrates through extra clothing

Heart needs comfort, love from Heaven’s song

Absent clouds replaced with brightest sun

God’s advent warms both body and soul

Speaking with loving mercy and grace

Father softens pain from rocky shoal

Walk’s intensity traded for peace

Warmness and hope, alive and feeding

Life’s burdens lightened with God’s blessings

Sharing much more, His presence leading

Anticipate your battles, fight them on your knees before temptation comes, and you will always have the victory.

From 2 Chronicles 20:15: “He said, ‘Listen, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the Lord to you: Do not fear or be dismayed at this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God’s.‘”

R. A. Torrey (1856-1928) was an American Christian evangelist and Bible teacher. Reuben Archer Torrey also served as pastor, educator, and writer.

His Mercy Deploys

From Jeremiah 20:7: “O Lord, You have enticed me, and I was enticed; You have overpowered me, and You have prevailed.”

Rising every morning
Praising Father above
Heart overflowing with grace
Embracing His righteous love

Overpowering truth
Receiving Father’s Word
Faith trusting in every verse
Seeing heavens’ light transferred

Clutching hope with each test
Disbursing Father’s peace
Enemy’s footprint erased
Prevailing darkness shall cease

Witnessing newborn child
Breathing with Father’s joy
Savior Jesus brings Good News
Rising, His mercy deploys

If you look up into His face an say, “Yes, Lord, whatever it costs,” at that moment He’ll flood your life with His presence and power.

From Psalm 63:3-4: “Because Your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise You. So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands and call on Your name.

Alan Redpath (1907-1989) was a British pastor, evangelist, and Christian author.
