Another journey waits

Absorbing Savior’s Word

Keeping our righteous path straight

 

Day after day

Enemy surrounds thee

Witnessing Savior’s love

Grasping His truth, always free

 

Day after day

Darkness shames life of sin

Rising, Savior confronts

Locking faith’s righteous linchpin

 

Day after day

Blindness in faith creeps in

Praying for Savior’s grace

Casting His light from within

 

Day after day

Hope finds security

Blessing from Savior’s heart

Bestowing His purity

Silencing each tempest

Shining countenance beams

Journey heading downstream

 

Leading with righteous truth

Hearing mercy’s voice

Faith accepts blessed choice

 

Escaping from bondage

Following perfect light

Always, God by my side

Sheltered at His campsite

Reading from Psalm 38, one finds David’s words as he asks for God’s healing.  This poem’s verses bring to the forefront an active voice with feeling, praying, finding, healing, praising, and seeing.

Praying with faith

Finding new life

Healing this soul

Healing my heart

Healing me whole

 

Praising Father

Praising accords

Praising heavens

Praising my Lord

 

Seeing the Cross

Seeing the light

Seeing Christ’s love

Seeing God’s might

Surging downpour

Waves of darkness

Always, facing more

 

Confronting fate

Reeling with pain

Enemy waits

Always, comes again

 

Praying to God

Hearing His voice

Times of challenge

Always, offers choice

 

Reaching to thee

Grasping His hand

Deliverance

Always, God commands

 

Reading His Word

Lighting each lamp

Promise rings true

Always, in God’s camp

 

Finding refuge

Forgiving sins

Redemption breathes

Always, grace comes in

Spending time with Him

Eyes fixed on Jesus

Growing in His Word

Liberating us

 

Completing life’s course

Jesus waiting there

Fulfilling mercy

Answering prayers

From 2 Chronicles 7:14:  “If My people who are called by My name humble themselves, pray, seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

George Whitefield (1714-1770) was an English-born pastor and Christian evangelist.  He spent the second half of his life in the American colonies.
