Peace shared from Father

Grace sails, with encouragement’s ship

 

Journey’s turbulent moments

Shrinking in Calvary’s light

Christ wins each battle

Enemy’s darkness, taking flight

 

Imperfect oceans of faith

Trusting heavenly Father

His gentle spirit always near

Offering sweetest taste of grace

Morning’s sunrise shall appear

 

Ruling over universe

Rod with staff, trusted comfort’s strength

Bearing conditional love

Father closer than arm’s length

 

Giving thanks for His presence

Father’s hands crafting faith’s high road

Singing praises for His efforts

Eternity’s seeds now sowed

 

Hearing when righteous cry out

His refuge sends rescue’s clear light

Redeeming all crushed in spirit

Father’s love shares His delight

 

Living in His blessed house

Faith’s steady journey now fulfilled

A great river is not aimless.  It has direction and purpose.  So also must a good life have a definite aim; all its strength and fullness must be turned in one direction.

Be grateful for the joy of life.  Be glad for the privilege of work.  Be thankful for the opportunity to give and serve.

Grenville Kleiser (1968-1935) was an American author.  Many of his writings offered inspiration and guidance for personal development.

From 1 Peter 1:15-16:  “Like obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires that you formerly had in ignorance.  Instead, as He who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct, for it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.'”

James H. Aughey (1828-1911) was an American minister.  During the Civil War, he was imprisoned and scheduled to be executed for his anti-Secession and pro-Union beliefs.  Fortunately, he was able to escape from his Confederate captors and reached the lines of the Union army.

Disturbing times should remind us we are only pilgrims on this earth.  Our citizenship is in a heavenly kingdom that can never be shaken.
