Henry Clay (1777-1852) was an American lawyer and statesman.  He served in both houses of the American Congress.  He spent his adult life in the state of Kentucky.

Mystery ahead

Shadows can’t hide

Each spirit drinks deeply

Endless dreams collide

Pathway of echoes

These woods speak out

Tomorrow surrenders

Darkened voices sprout

Moonlight’s reflections

Mirrors of light

Backwoods’ invitation

Shared from nature’s birthright

Night’s melody plays

Whispers gift-wrapped

Each note of harmony

Composed to adapt

Mystery now found

Morn’s grateful dawn

Spirits return to sleep

Dreams wait to be drawn

Fortune is the prize to be worn.  Adventure is the road to it.  Chance is what may lurk in the shadows of the roadside.

Most wonderful of all are words, and how they make friends one with another.

O. Henry, the pen name of William Henry Porter (1862-1910), was an American writer who mastered the art of crafting short stories.
