Itzhak Perlman Quotes

The most important thing to do is really listen.

Never miss an opportunity to teach; when you teach others, you teach yourself.

Itzhak Perlman (born 1945) is an Israeli-American violinist.

Forgiving Light

From John 3:16-17:  “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish but may have eternal life.  Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world but in order that the world might be saved through Him.”

Witnessing distant light

Christ in Bethlehem born

Journey makes way toward cross

Thorns of man’s transgressions worn

Raising light, seeing grace

Father’s love bears His Son

Calvary moves from shadows

Hope’s fulfillment shall be done

Marking truth’s difference

Faith’s Messiah shows up

Destiny’s light serves pardons

Mercy flows from Heaven’s cup

Leaving days of darkness

God’s blueprint marks Christ’s way

Man’s sinful spirit transformed

Light nourishes peace each day

Exchanging world’s sorrows

Savior’s forgiving light

Every iniquity paid

Redemption’s dynamic flight

From John 3:19-21:  “And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.  For all who do evil hate the light and do not come to the light, so that their deeds may not be exposed.  But those who do what is true come to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God.”

Jesus invites us to embrace prayer in His name when darkness brings worry.

Richard Baxter Quote

Photo by Pere Romero Alonso on Pexels.com

The longer you delay, the more your sin gets strength and rooting.  If you cannot bend a twig, how will you be able to bend it when it is a tree.

From James 1:14-15:  “But one is tempted by one’s own desire, being lured and enticed by it; then, when desire has conceived, it engenders sin, and sin, when it is fully grown, gives birth to death.”

Richard Baxter (1615-1691) was an English-born, Puritan pastor and Christian theologian.

There is a certain calmness which arrives when a writer turns scattered letters into a delightful gathering of prose.

Loretta Young Quotes

Photo by Mikael Blomkvist on Pexels.com

A face is like the outside of a house, and most faces, like most houses, give us an idea of what we can expect to find inside.

What you don’t know intrigues you more than what you do know.

Loretta Young (1913-2000) was an American actress.  Starting as a child in 1916, her career continued until 1989.  In 1947, she earned an Academy Award as Best Actress for her performance in “The Farmer’s Daughter.”

Monday Memories: Love Never Dims

From Ecclesiastes 3:1: “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.”

Photo by Kelsey Johnson on Pexels.com

Winter’s snow, cannot hide

Cherished love, deep inside

During darkness of night

Her love shines, always bright

Spring’s blossoms, love shares

Life’s newness, always cares

Nature wakens, each land

Her splendor, in God’s hands

Summer’s glowing spirit

Longing to walk near it

Love growing, day by day

Her grandeur comes this way

Autumn’s colored venue

Love fills each day’s menu

Landscape treasures each thrill

Her warmth hides winter’s chill

Seasons, patient with time

Faith grows, ever in rhyme

Righteous gifts, sing as hymns

Father’s love, never dims

From Lamentations 3:22-24:  “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.  ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘therefore I will hope in Him.'”

Embracing the grace offered with each season’s transition serves as a testament to our Creator’s light.
