To a world filling with harsh darkness
Our Heavenly Father wakens trust
God’s love conquers, crushing this starkness
Sending our Redeemer, always just
Jesus, the Messiah, walks the land
His Spirit deepens our mind and soul
We experience God, close at hand
Blood shed on a Cross, paying our toll
With every footprint Jesus makes
Walking forward, His bright light beckons
We follow with faith, make no mistake
Through our adversity, faith checks in
Enemy lurks, bringing temptation
Walking with Jesus, freed like a bird
In alignment with Him . . . Salvation!

You shall be faith sustain yourself and comfort yourself in your Lord, and be strong in His power.

Samuel Rutherford (1600-1661) was a Scottish pastor and Christian theologian.
From Mark 5:27-29: “She had heard about Jesus and came up behind Him in the crowd and touched His cloak, for she said, ‘If I but touch His cloak, I will be made well.’ Immediately her flow of blood stopped, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease.”
Father’s righteousness
Immortal mercy’s voice
Molding man in His image
Praising heavens, let all rejoice
Savior’s healing breath
Joy fills morning’s new light
Turning darkness upside down
Nourishing with grace, always right
Spirit’s eagerness
Generous with His love
Inspiring faithful actions
Living bread shares truth from above
Messiah restores
Faith accepts lasting peace
Sharing His divine goodness
Living water shall never cease
Father’s blessed plan
Gospel sharing Good News
Witnessing Son’s promised choice
Meeting Calvary, hope renews

Pride, fear, resentment, and habit are all tough evidences of the flesh. But those who are being shaped into the image of Christ do not go the way of the flesh.
