This series of poems (written in the German-inspired style of Elfchen or Elevenie) shares a total of eleven words in each poem, with a sequence by line of one, two, three, four, and one words.
What good does it do me if Christ was born in Bethlehem once if He is not born again in my heart through faith.
From 1 Peter 1: 22-24: “Now that you have purified your souls by your obedience to the truth so that you have genuine mutual affection, love one another deeply from the heart. You have been born anew, not of perishable but of imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God. For all flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls.”
Origen of Alexandria (c. 185 – c. 253) was also known as Origen Adamantius. He was a Christian scholar and theologian who spent the first half of his life in Alexandria (Egypt).
Night after night
Scanning heavens above
Each constellation
Sharing Creator’s love
Crossing each bridge
Destination ahead
Chasing every star
Father tucks into bed
Hours fill with dreams
Flowing always downstream

I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain.
The place in which I’ll fit will not exist until I make it.
American-born James A. Baldwin (1924-1987) wrote a variety of works in novels, essays, short stories, and plays. He was also an active participant in the civil rights movement during the 1960s.
From John 4:13-14: “Jesus said to her, ‘Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.'”
Haunting landscape of needs
Darkness, breathless with fear
Back streets can never hide

From John 14:1-2: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me. In My Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?”
The only way to learn strong faith is to endure great trials.
From 1 Peter 1:6-7: “ In this you rejoice, even if now for a little while you have had to suffer various trials, so that the genuineness of your faith—being more precious than gold that, though perishable, is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.”
German-born George Muller (1805-1898) was a Christian evangelist. Later in his life, he and his wife spent 17 years involved with missionary travel throughout the world.

Ohio-born Toni Morrison (1931-2019) experienced the ultimate tributes given any novelist when she received the Pulitzer Prize in 1988 for her ground-breaking novel BELOVED and the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1993. Her many awards and published works were a testament to her gifts as a writer.

God dwells on a Holy hill
Pursuing those hungry, for His will
Away from God, we are forlorn
Seeking refuge, asking to be reborn
Our Lord is a most Holy God
Bringing blessings and love, He nods
He brings delight, for another week
Filling cups with refreshment, we seek
At night, He calms our hearts
Giving wise counsel, new day starts
God remains near, always beside us
Walking patiently, without a big fuss
He stays close, offering His hand
Facing our challenges, across this land
God fills hearts, with joyful gladness
We sing and rejoice, without sadness
Our prayers seek a willing ear
Finding a Holy God, without fear
Our footing will never slip away
Walking a safe path, God’s way
God hears our words and prayers
Sending answers, because He truly cares
Under the shadow of God’s wings
Protecting us, safe refuge He brings
My worth to God in public is what I am in private. Is my master ambition to please Him and be acceptable to Him, or is it something less, no matter how humble.
From 2 Corinthians 5:6-9: “So we are always confident, even though we know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord—for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we do have confidence, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to be pleasing to Him.
