All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story.
No story is innocent. To tell is to put oneself in danger. To remain silent is to isolate yourself.

From 1 Corinthians 2:4-5: “My speech and my proclamation were not with plausible words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might rest not on human wisdom but on the power of God.”

World full of deception
Most lack understanding
Man lives with blind spirit
God’s Word seeks soft landing
Father’s knowledge revealed
Prepared with divine love
Shared through Holy Spirit
From heaven’s depths above
Man’s spirit lacks vision
Missing truth of God’s Word
Pride hinders man’s access
Spirit’s teachings transferred
Filling man’s hungry mind
Scripture’s truth, Spirit brings
Living in mind of Christ
God’s wisdom always clings

From 1 Corinthians 2:12-13: “Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit that is from God, so that we may understand the gifts bestowed on us by God. And we speak of these things in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual things to those who are spiritual.”
Looking to conquer
Bullies search for life’s island—
Mankind’s weakest link

Remember always
Our mirror’s self-reflection—
Misses life’s real truth

Life’s biggest challenge
Constructing each new puzzle—
Piece follows each piece

The Gospel is not speculation but fact. It is truth, because it is the record of as person who is the Truth.
From Colossians 3:1-2: “So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”

The way to right wrongs is to turn the light of truth upon them.
Virtue knows no color line.
Ida B. Wells (1862-1931) was involved in the early years of the civil rights movement in the United States. Her background also included positions in investigative journalism and education. She was one of the founders of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

The truth always needs a resting place or it will lie down wherever it sees fit.
As long as we are not living in our full humanity, we cannot create a world of humanity.

A man dies when he refuses to stand up for that which is right. A man dies when he refuses to stand up for justice. A man dies when he refuses to take a stand for that which is true.
From Amos 5:23-24: “Take away from me the noise of your songs; I will not listen to the melody of your harps. But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.”
From Romans 7:14-15: “For we know that the law is spiritual; but I am of the flesh, sold into slavery under sin. I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.”

Even after salvation
Evil gathers temptation
Satan never giving up
His truth always false, made-up
Man continues to wrestle
Sin looks for place to nestle
Feelings of condemnation
Life bears guilty fixation
Inner conflict tears apart
Jesus speaks truth to each heart
Faith’s dilemma overcome
Favored, steady, beating drum
Savior’s blood wipes sin away
Blessed by love, trust never sways
God’s grace eternally flows
His constant love never slows
Father shall never reject
Those who faithfully connect
False promises never blind
Truth of Scripture filling minds

From Romans 8:1-2: “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.”

You no more need a holiday from spiritual concentration than your heart needs a holiday from beating.
From 2 Chronicles 15:17: “But the high places were not taken out of Israel. Nevertheless the heart of Asa was true all his days.”
Beware of idols
Turning away, seeking truth—
Placing faith in God

Love abides in God
Seeking lost and wayward sheep—
Welcoming each home

Father, be gracious
Faithful promises leading—
Hearing each prayer
