I know that the light of His presence with me doth continually dwell.

From Psalm 34:5:  “Look to Him, and be radiant so your faces shall never be ashamed.”

Fanny Crosby (1820-1915) was an American mission worker, poet, lyricist, and composer.  Her prolific creation of hymns and gospel songs produced over 8,000 finished works.

Thankfulness Sings

From Psalm 9:1-2:  “I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.  I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.”

Another harvest finished

Bushels filled with Father’s grace

Spirit of thankfulness sings

Chorus of voices embrace

Gifted with bounty’s surplus

Every homestead offers praise

Spirit of Messiah sings

Mercy’s light always ablaze

Humbleness in daily walk

Morning’s sunrise praises all

Spirit of risen Lord sings

Cherished rewards come each fall

Community now gathers

Worship fills this tiny church

Spirit of faithfulness sings

Hope filling tomorrow’s search

Another spring shall arrive

Father’s glory in each seed

Spirit of thankfulness sings

Savior’s love forever freed

From Psalm 100:4-5:  “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.  Give thanks to Him; bless His name.  For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever and His faithfulness to all generations.”

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Quotes

In praising or loving a child, we love and praise not that which is, but that which we hope for.

Correction does much, but encouragement does more.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832) was a German polymath.  He has been considered one of the most influential writers in the German language.

Devoted Praise

From Psalm 106:1:  “Praise the Lord!  O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever.”

Never enough time

Life’s constant demands

Making moments for God

Pausing to hold His hand

Devoted praise speaks

For what God has done

Stopping life’s busy train

Praying beside His Son

Love for God endures

Goodness offers grace

Rejoicing in His peace

Feeling blessed embrace

God’s mighty doings

Quiet moments fill

Singing with heartfelt thanks

Feeling time standing still

From Psalm 106:48:  “Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. And let all the people say, ‘Amen.’ Praise the Lord!”

Heaven’s Gate

From Psalm 118:19:  “Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter through them and give thanks to the Lord.”

Glorious morning light

Blessings from Father’s heart

Angelic voices praise

Calling out faith’s fresh start

Tomb forever empty

Raising Messiah’s love

Hallelujah’s sing out

Praising heavens above

Risen Savior conquers

Draining river of sin

New covenant flowing

Uplifting quest begins

Divine plans now fulfilled

Spreading faith’s greatest news

Darkness vanquished at last

Breathing from mercy’s view

Bridge built to Heaven’s gate

Fulfilling gift of grace

Good Shepherd holds its key

Seeing at last, His face

Have you never known?

God’s grace, covering this earth

Have you never heard?

Cold stable, virgin gives birth

Filling heavens with praises

God builds, He provides

Seeding faith with righteousness

His light serves as guide

Have you never known?

God’s Word shares His peace

Have you never heard?

Savior’s love renews faith’s lease

Hearing of Christ’s healing hand

God’s divine plan leads

Empowering man to change

Mercy’s tender reeds

Have you never known?

God’s desire to send His Son

Have you never heard?

Redemption forever won

Lamb of God, in heaven’s wings

God envisions hope

Bridge built between man and God

Savior levels every slope

From Mark 1:38-39:  “He answered, ‘Let us go on to the neighboring towns, so that I may proclaim the message there also, for that is what I came out to do.’  And He went throughout all Galilee, proclaiming the message in their synagogues and casting out demons.”

Robert Collyer Quote

The things we do at Christmas are touched with a certain extravagance, as beautiful, in some of its aspects, as the extravagance of nature in June.

From Luke 2:20:  “The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, just as it had been told them.”

Robert Collyer (1823-1912) was an English-born pastor.  Early in his adult life, he emigrated to the United States and would later resuming preaching after having done so in England.

God calls us to seek Him daily in order to serve Him daily.

From Psalm 92:1-2:  “It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to Your name, O Most High, to declare Your steadfast love in the morning and Your faithfulness by night.”

Sheila Cragg (born 1938) is an American Christian writer.  Her numerous books share a dynamic faith and witness, and she has served as a mentor for other Christian writers.

From Isaiah 55:10:  “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there until they have watered the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater.”
