From the words of American pastor and Christian author, Charles Swindoll: “When I’m able, by faith, to sense God’s hand in my situation, my attitude will be right.”
From Psalm 105:4-5: “Seek the Lord and His strength;seek His presence continually. Remember the wonderful works He has done, His miracles and the judgments He has uttered.”
When affliction strips away every crutch, one has only the Lord to depend upon. Though some people are destroyed by that kind of situation, others are built into undaunted believers.
From Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him,and he will make straight your paths.”
From Colossians 1:12-14: “Giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”

Life’s challenging journey
Filled with traps of despair
Father always with us
Pulling each from evil’s snare
Life’s tormenting voices
Dragged into darkest seas
Father always with us
Catching mercy’s faithful breeze
Life’s foolish decisions
Swayed by misplaced actions
Father always with us
Forgiving sin’s transactions
Life’s pride overflowing
Drowned amongst false idols
Father always with us
Responding to His bridle
Life’s unforgiving walk
Misguided force’s fraud
Father always with us
Walking with transforming God

From 1 John 1:8: “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”
From the words of Christian author and leadership speaker, John Maxwell: “With the right attitude and a willingness to pay the price, almost anyone can pursue nearly any opportunity and achieve it.”
From Isaiah 49:1: “Listen to me, O coastlands;pay attention, you peoples from far away! The Lord called me before I was born;while I was in my mother’s womb He named me.”
From Isaiah 49:13: “Sing for joy, O heavens, and exult, O earth;break forth, O mountains, into singing! For the Lord has comforted his peopleand will have compassion on his suffering ones.”
From the words of English-born preacher Charles Inwood: “When God is going to do a wonderful thing, He begins with a difficulty. When He is going to do a very wonderful thing, He begins with an impossibility.”
But be careful to remember that you are freed for one thing only–to be absolutely devoted to your co-Worker.
From 1 Corinthians 3:9: “For we are God’s coworkers, working together; you are God’s field, God’s building.”
Oswald Chambers (1874-1917) was a Scottish evangelist and Christian teacher. Following his death from an illness while in Egypt during World War I, his wife took on the task of transcribing the detailed notes she had written from his lectures and sermons. Gertrude Hobbs Chambers’ efforts resulted in the publication in 1924 of MY UTMOST FOR HIS HIGHEST. I frequently read from this devotional, and it has greatly deepened my faith and understanding of God’s Word.
