Dietrich Bonhoeffer Quote

God did not make us perfect Christians in one stroke. He calls us as we are, and only His grace makes us what we are not.

From 1 Corinthians 15:9-10:  “For I am the least of the apostles, unfit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me has not been in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I but the grace of God that is with me.

German-born Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906-1945) was a Lutheran pastor, theologian, and anti-Nazi dissident.  Many of his writings express the role of Christianity in mankind’s daily lives.  He paid the ultimate price for his activism against the Nazi regime during World War II.

Joy’s Fresh Start

From Psalm 105:4-5: “Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His presence continually. Remember the wonderful works He has done, His miracles and the judgments He has uttered.”

From Hebrews 11:1: “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

Whatever I treasure the most will control my heart. Whatever controls my heart will control my behavior. May God be my treasure. He is big enough.

From Isaiah 40:12, 18: “Who has measured the waters of the sea in the hollow of His hand and marked off the heavens with a span, enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance? To whom, then, will you liken God, or what likeness compare with Him?”

Jonathan Byrd (born 1978) is an American professional golfer. He is known for integrating his Christian faith into his daily life as well as his golf career.

Father’s Steady Hand

From Psalm 48:12-14: “Walk about Zion; go all around it; count its towers; consider well its ramparts; go through its citadels, that you may tell the next generation that this is God, our God forever and ever.  He will be our guide forever.”

From Isaiah 58:11: “The Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your needs in parched places and make your bones strong, and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water whose waters never fail.”

So let me ask you: When are you going to stand up, to stand alone, to answer the call of God in this hour?

From Colossians 3:2: “Set your minds on the things that are above, not on the things that are on earth.”

Charles Swindoll (born 1934) is an American pastor and Christian author.

Each Wayward Branch

From Hebrews 3:5-6: “Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that would be spoken later. Christ, however, was faithful over God’s house as a son, and we are His house if we hold firm the boldness and the pride inspired by hope.”

Witness His steadfast love
Christ soars beyond earth’s light
Grace cascades from above
Shared blessings always bright

Refuge found full of peace
Christ endures forever
Mercy must always seek
Faith’s trusted endeavors

Surrounded by life’s thorns
Christ bears sin’s heavy weight
Perfect lamb never shorn
Heavenly path made straight

Encouragement descends
Christ wrapped in Father’s Word
Forged through fire, love defends
Truth shall always be heard

Harmony’s welcome tune
Christ walks ahead of man
Each wayward branch, He prunes
Strengthened, just as God plans

From Psalm 118:28-29: “You are my God, and I will give thanks to you; you are my God; I will extol you. O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever.”

Charles Stanley Quote

How grateful we are that God made His message so simple: Trust Jesus for what He did on the cross and know that He left an empty tomb.

From Luke 24:45-46:  “Then He opened their minds to understand the scriptures, and He said to them, ‘Thus it is written, that the Messiah is to suffer and to rise from the dead on the third day.”

Charles Stanley (1932-2023) was an American pastor and Christian writer.  He was dedicated to leading a teaching ministry.

Christ Intervening

From Acts 2:38: “Peter said to them, ‘Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'”
