William Butler Yeats Quotes

Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.

The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.

William Butler Yeats (1865-1939) was an Irish writer.  He was well-known for his poetry.

Norman Rockwell Quotes

Commonplaces never become tiresome. It is we who become tired when we cease to be curious and appreciative.

The view of life I communicate in my pictures excludes the sordid and ugly. I paint life as I would like it to be.

Norman Rockwell (1894-1978) was an American artist and illustrator.  His works were published in magazines, advertisements, covers, calendars, and so much more.  He accurately displayed the essence of American life.

Anatole France Quotes

The whole art of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural curiosity of young minds.

Nine tenths of education is encouragement.

Anatole France (1844-1924) was a renowned French poet, journalist, and novelist.  In 1921, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature for his lifetime of achievements.

Be less curious about people and more curious about ideas.

Life is not easy for any of us.  But what of that?  We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves.

Marie Curie (1867-1934) was Polish-born and later became a naturalized French citizen.  As a physicist and chemist, her pioneering research in the field of radioactivity led to the discovery of the element of radium.

Monday Memories: Innocence

Watching a curious child

Witnessing sparkles of joy

Blessing us with innocence

Seeing how life will deploy

Finding daily adventure

Lighting up another room

Reaching out with innocence

Moving with a speedy vroom

Revealing wonders of life

Surviving each bump and bruise

Shining through with innocence

Napping now, let’s take a snooze

Playing through daily lessons

Sharing love with extra zest

Teaching us with innocence

Enjoying life with each quest
