Think of the blessings we so easily take for granted: Life itself; preservation from danger; every bit of healthy we enjoy; every hour of liberty; the ability to see, to hear, to speak, to think, and to imagine all this comes from the hand of God.
From 2 Corinthians 9:7: “Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
Comfort and peace never come from anything we know about ourselves, but only and always from what we know about Him.
From Isaiah 40:8: “The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God will stand forever.”

You have to learn to go out of convictions, out of creeds, out of experiences, until, so far as your faith is concerned, there is nothing between yourself and God.

You were created to add to life on earth, not just take from it.
From 1 Corinthians 10:31: “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.”

A photograph is usually looked at–seldom looked into.
If you expect someone else to guide you, you’ll be lost.
You don’t build a bond without being present.

Personally, I think a healthy sense of humor is determined by at least three abilities:
From Proverbs 15:13: “A glad heart makes a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is broken.”
We urgently need people who encourage and inspire us to move toward God.
From Hebrews 10:24-25: “And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood; aim for the chopping block.
You can’t test courage cautiously.
