Tell God you are ready to be offered, and God will prove Himself to be all you ever dreamed He would be.

From 2 Timothy 4:6-8:  “As for me, I am already being poured out as a libation, and the time of my departure has come.  I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.  From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for His appearing.”

William Henry Harrison

Times change, and we change with them.

John Tyler

Wealth can only be accumulated by the earnings of industry and the savings of frugality.

On an historical note, William Henry Harrison served the shortest term of office of any American President.  Upon becoming seriously ill after his inauguration, Harrison’s term only lasted 31 days.  His Vice President, John Tyler, succeeded him as President.

I live in the spirit of prayer.  I pray as I walk about, when I lie down and when I rise up.  And the answers are always coming.

From Romans 12:12:  “Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer.”

Truth lies in character.  Christ did not simply speak the truth; He was truth; truth through and through; for truth is a thing not of words, but of life and being.

The deepest truths are the simplest and the most common.

These quotes come from Frederick W. Robertson, English preacher and Christian author.

Acceptance is taking from God’s hand absolutely anything He gives, looking into His face in trust and thanksgiving, knowing that the confinement of the situation we’re in is good and for His glory.

From Isaiah 43:18-19:  “Do not remember the former things, or consider the things of old.  I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?  I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

glory to god book

There seems to be a chilling fear of holy enthusiasm among the people of God.  We try to tell how happy we are–but we remain so well-controlled that there are very few waves of glory experienced in our midst.

From Colossians 3:23-24:  “Whatever your task, put yourselves into it, as done for the Lord and not for your masters, since you know that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward; you serve the Lord Christ.

The real delight of hearing God is tempered with shame in having been so long in hearing Him.

From Exodus 20:18-20:  “When all the people witnessed the thunder and lightning, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking, they were afraid and trembled and stood at a distance, and said to Moses, ‘You speak to us, and we will listen; but do not let God speak to us, or we will die.’  Moses said to the people, ‘Do not be afraid; for God has come only to test you and to put the fear of Him upon you so that you do not sin.'”

Contentment should be the hallmark of my life, as I put my affairs in the hands of God.

From 1 Timothy 6:6-8:  “Of course, there is great gain in godliness combined with contentment; for we brought nothing into the world, so that we can take nothing out of it; but if we have food and clothing, we will be content with these.”
