Surprise
Landscape glistens white
Winter gift-wrapped for one day—
Melting tomorrow

Melodramatic
Calendar page turns
Blistering heat dome moves in—
Spring’s ironic script
Summoned
Thunderstorm descends
Torrential raindrops blossom—
Floodgates spring to close

We had snow on Sunday morning. It was enough to cover everything with a clean white blanket. In the time I was writing my blog (about an hour) I watched it melt and nourish the ground below.

Your haiku perfectly describe the topsy-turvy weather of a Texas spring: well, except for the snow, although that might show up in the Panhandle or Dallas.

Linda,, thank you for adding your voice to this Haiku series. Spring always seems to arrive more like a roller coaster ride.

As the season changes from winter to spring, may we also change to bloom with purpose and peace. 🙏

Sounds like VA weather lately. The saying is if you don’t like the weather here, just wait a few days and it will change. We were up to the 80’s last week and had a frost warning last night. Lovely verses!

Vickie, thank you for reading and adding an update on Virginia weather. We narrowly missed frost a few nights as well. The saying around central Ohio is to put out bedding plants after Mother’s Day.

Your headings are right on cue with the haikus, Richard, and picture-perfect. These seasonal changes keep us on our toes!

Dora, I appreciate your delightful response to this Haiku series. I feel quite blessed to live within the perpetual nature of four seasons.
