The God who spoke still speaks. He comes into our world. He comes into your world. He comes to do what you can’t.
From Isaiah 46:4: “Even to your old age I am He; even when you turn gray I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.”
Virgin prairie
Endless grassy sea
Fertile, untouched
Living always free
Nature’s preserve
Blessed grassy sea
Native people
Worship what they see
Gift forever
Treasured grassy sea
Timeless, precious
Mother Earth agrees
Standing knee high
Faithful grassy sea
Glory days sing
Praises fill with glee
Man’s encroachment
Constant grassy sea
Days now numbered
Earth makes her plea
Plowing under
Cherished grassy sea
Another farm
Way of life now flees
Forever gone
Priceless grassy sea
Winds of time change
What should always be

In nature nothing exists alone.
But man is a part of nature, and his war against nature is inevitably a war against himself.
Rachel Carson (1907-1964) was an American marine biologist, conservationist, and writer. Many of her writings helped to advance the global environmental movement.
From Philippians 3:10-11: “I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the sharing of His sufferings by becoming like Him in His death, if somehow I may attain the resurrection from the dead.”
Living in darkness
Flesh from evil lasts
Searching for God’s light
Breaking from sin’s past
Walking with Jesus
Loss shall replace gain
Redeeming at cross
Witnessing His pain
Wanting to know more
Resurrection’s light
Pressing on in faith
Praising all that’s right
Spending time with Him

Liberating us
Completing life’s course
Jesus waiting there
Fulfilling mercy
Answering prayers

If you want to be of use to God, get rightly related to Jesus Christ and He will make you of use unconsciously every minute you live.
From Mathew 6:33-34: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”
Oswald Chambers (1874-1917) was a Scottish evangelist and Christian teacher. Following his death from an illness while in Egypt during World War I, his wife took on the task of transcribing the detailed notes she had written from his lectures and sermons. Gertrude Hobbs Chambers’ efforts resulted in the publication in 1924 of MY UTMOST FOR HIS HIGHEST. I frequently read from this devotional, and it has greatly deepened my faith and understanding of God’s Word.
