Patricia Cornwell (born 1956) is an American novelist. Many of her stories revolve around solving fictional crimes through the eyes of medical examiner Kay Scarpetta.
Since Cornwell is originally from VA and I am, too, I have read her books for years. I don’t approve of her lifestyle choices, but she does have some wisdom as shown in the quotations you chose to share from her.

My mother has several of Cornwell’s novels in her home collection. Thank you Vickie for affirming her wisdom. I am not as familiar with her background so your thoughts encouraged me to read and learn more.
