Another day dawning
Life’s open highway
Relax, enjoy the ride
Searching hidden byways
Each byway, something new
Life’s treasured adventures
Unwind, take each one in
Tasting newfound ventures
Every venture smiles
Life’s tempo never slows
Marvel, each sweet blessing
Smelling one tender rose
Single rose shares fragrance
Life’s memories accrue
Smile, waiting in the wings
Finding tomorrow’s clue
Tomorrow’s whistle sounds
Life’s train steaming ahead
Relax, enjoy the ride
Dreaming, asleep in bed

I particularly liked the flow in this poem. Each part repeated something from the last which made it so enjoyable! So many different ways to”Enjoy the Ride” ! 🌟

I was thinking the same thing; the repeating from one stanza to the next created a pleasnt flow. Wonderful images throughout…

Jim, thanks for the affirmation of this technique. I haven’t used it often, but I enjoyed my own ride in crafting this poem.

Susan, I am pleased you enjoyed the ride throughout this poem. I have previously used this technique of connecting between verses, but it has been awhile. This poem was fun to craft because the only idea I had was “enjoy the ride.”

This piece makes me feel like I’m riding on that train. Each verse enhances the journey and makes me want to see what happens next.

Kathy, I am pleased you enjoyed the ride. I haven’t used this “connection” technique for awhile. It is fun to see how a blank piece of paper ignites from a simple three word phrase of “enjoy the ride.”
