Only a life of prayer and meditation will render a vessel ready for the Master’s use.

From Romans 12:2:  “Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

German-born George Muller (1805-1898) was a Christian evangelist.  Later in his life, he and his wife spent 17 years involved with missionary travel throughout the world.

An unschooled man who knows how to meditate upon the Lord has learned far more than the man with the highest education who does not know how to meditate.

From Psalm 77:12:  “I will meditate on all your work and muse on your mighty deeds.”

Charles Stanley (1932-2023) was an American pastor and Christian writer.  He was dedicated to leading a teaching ministry.

We need godly knowledge and principles to guide us, which is why we must make meditation on the Word a daily habit.

From Psalm 119:97-98:  “Oh, how I love Your law!  It is my meditation all day long.  Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is always with me.”

John Eldredge Quote

When we are in the presence of God, removed from distractions, we are able to hear Him more clearly, and a secure environment has been established for the young and broken places in our heart to surface.

From Psalm 16:11:  “You show me the path of life.  In Your presence there is fullness of joy; in Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

John Eldredge (born 1960) is an American author, counselor, and lecturer on Christianity.  More details are available on his website:  wildatheart.org.

In a world consumed with thoughts of itself, filled with people impressed with each other, having disconnected with the only One worthy of praise, it’s time we return to Theology 101 and sit silently in His presence.

From Psalm 115:3:  “Our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases.”
