God can use our authority and our abundance and our promotion. With authority comes the need for accountability. With popularity comes the need for humility. With prosperity comes the need for integrity.
From James 4:10: “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.”
God has entrusted to us a great deal. He knows that we can do all things by His grace, so He’s trusting in us to trust Him.
From Psalm 31:7-8: “I will exult and rejoice in your steadfast love, because you have seen my affliction;you have taken heed of my adversities, and have not delivered me into the hand of the enemy;you have set my feet in a broad place.”
“I will hold you up,” God says. When you lean on another person or another thing, your focus is sideways, not vertical. Human crutches paralyze the walk of faith.
From Isaiah 41:10: “Do not fear, for I am with you,do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you,I will uphold you with My victorious right hand.”
A healthy fear of God will do much to deter us from sin. When we have a proper fear of the living Lord, we live a cleaner life.
From 1 John 2:4-6: “Whoever says, ‘I have come to know him,’ but does not obey His commandments, is a liar, and in such a person the truth does not exist; but whoever obeys His word, truly in this person the love of God has reached perfection. By this we may be sure that we are in Him: whoever says, ‘I abide in him,’ ought to walk just as He walked.”
People who inspire others are those who see invisible bridges at the end of dead-end streets.
From Jeremiah 29:11: “For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.”
A person filled with gumption doesn’t sit around, dissipating and stewing about things. He’s at the front of the train of his own awareness, watching to see what’s up the track and meeting it when it comes.
From Psalm 5:8: “Lead me, O Lord, in your righteousnessbecause of my enemies;make your way straight before me.”
