In wisdom gathered over time, I have found that every experience is a form of exploration.
It is horrifying that we have to fight our own government to save the environment.

I honestly believe that “forgetting” is the hardest part of “forgiving.” Forgetting is something shared with no other person. It’s a solo flight.
From 1 John 4:4: “Little children, you are from God, and have conquered them; for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”

In order to make deposits in heaven’s bank, following Christ must be more important than any worldly ambition or priority.
From Luke 12:19-21: “And I will say to my soul, ‘Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.’ But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life is being demanded of you. And the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ So it is with those who store up treasures for themselves but are not rich toward God.”

A mother’s love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path.
From Isaiah 66:13: “As a mother comforts her child, so I will comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.”

Whatever your dream is, every extra penny you have needs to be going to that.
There’s so much negative imagery of black fatherhood. I’ve got tons of friends that are doing the right thing by their kids, and doing the right thing as a father–and how come that’s not newsworthy.

When two interesting people have a conversation, they completely forget to talk about themselves.
Before you take on the world, go to war with yourself and win.

The secret of every discord in Christian homes and communities and churches is that we seek our own way and our own glory.
From Romans 12:15-17: “Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly; do not claim to be wiser than you are. Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.”

That we may not complain of what is, let us see God’s hand in all events; and, that we may not be afraid of what shall be, let us see all events in God’s hands.
From Proverbs 27:1: “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.”

There is one Advocate we all need–one who represents sinners like us in the highest of all places–the presence of God: “Jesus Christ, the righteous.” What a great promise!
From 1 John 2:1-2: “My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.”

Be patient. God is using today’s difficulties to strengthen you for tomorrow. He is equipping you. The God who makes things grow will help you bear fruit.
From 2 Peter 1:5-7: “For this very reason, you must make every effort to support your faith with goodness, and goodness with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with godliness, and godliness with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love.”
