From Isaiah 9:2: “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who lived in a land of deep darkness—on them light has shined.”

Walking without light
Actions filled with sin
False gods and idols
Faith absent within
Living in darkness
Gloom filled with torment
God’s conquered people
Called now to repent
Hearing prophet’s call
Shadows hidden theft
Nation’s ember glows
God has never left
Seeing promised grace
Filled with renewed hope
Evil crawls away
Faith grasps mercy’s rope
Easing life’s burdens
True light’s beating drum
Fear replaced with joy
Darkness overcome

From Isaiah 9:4: “For the yoke of their burden and the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor, You have broken as on the day of Midian.”

No problem. As for things being good with me, I have just been diagnosed with diabetes type 2 along with high cholesterol.

Hang in there Ken. I’ve been dealing with same issues for a few years.

How often do we feel we are walking in darkness … lost, blind and miserable … and then God shines His light on us, and the situation. And what a difference that makes!

There’s nothing like being cleansed with the light of Christ! We can overcome darkness and help others see and feel the light. Beautiful words as always, Richard! God bless you!

“Evil crawls away”. I like all the darkness to light imagery in this poem. Praise be to the Lord who brings us out of darkness and into His light!

Susan, your words are a blessing to share. When others see someone’s journey move from darkness to light, they witness the grace of God.
