If I were starting my family over again, I would give first priority to my wife and children, not my work.
From Psalm 90:12: “So teach us to count our days that we may gain a wise heart.”

It’s never to late to start putting family first, My child is grown and when she was little, I felt as a single divorced mom, work had to be first, because it meant survival. Then when my child was eight, a boss told me if I left work to tend to my sick child I was fired. I left ,took my daughter to ER, she had pneumonia, and had to get breathing treatments, doctor said it was good I brought her in , as in another day, shed been hospitalized. I never put my job first , ever again. Family first, believing God would take care of us. I had been raised to believe job first, family second. I’m glad I broke that old thought with Family First, Family is Everything.

Debbie, your personal witness about family stirs up my own feelings. All three of my daughters are grown-up with families of their own. God has truly blessed me with more than I could ever imagine.

Yes indeed we are blessed, when I prayed for my one baby, God answered that prayer and more, my 5th grandchild was just born. I like to say my teacup has overflowed into five more teacups . Blessings to your family. Merry Christmas!

I agree Jim. Parenting will never be a perfect science. When our first child arrives, the playbook is pretty much empty. Love will make a difference. Enjoy your winter break!

good point, Richard. love can make up for not knowing what we were doing. and I am enjoying the break. although Nova’s football season is over, and our basketball team has had a rough couple of games. good luck to Montana!

Good news for Montana State football. They defeated South Dakota State yesterday, 34-17, to advance to the championship in three weeks against North Dakota State.

I think that quote spoke to many of us… especially the “Type A” personalities like me! Yes, it’s never too late to put family right where it should be in our list of priorities!!
