Monday Memories: Watch Out: Christmas Is Almost Here! (Special Guest Post)

Watch out:

The word of the world; yes it has much to say . . .

. . . You have planning, and shopping, and shopping some more.

Then comes cooking, and wrapping and baking galore.

It’s a hustle and bustle that grows every day.

The snowball grows larger and rolls where it may.

You just can’t stop it, so watch out . . .

GET OUT OF THE WAY!

Watch out:

The word of the Lord, yes it has much to say . . .

. . . Rest your body and spirit, and then rest in me.

There’s a reason and meaning, a meaning to see.

It’s not parties or Santa behind that one day.

Go slowly and stop now, the star leads the way.

Some may have missed it, so watch out . . .

HE SLEPT ON THE HAY!

Such a small gift; so humble and so dear.

Could you possibly give it?

Could you be that bold?

Such a rich gift; so special and so near.

Could you possibly share it?

Could the truth be told?

Watch out:

The word of your life, yes it has much to say . . .

. . . Wrap the gift of the baby who brought us God’s grace.

Give His love to the world and to all you embrace.

Tell the world that this baby grew to be the way.

Go slowly and stop now, to hear Jesus say.

Don’t let them miss it, so watch out . . .

MY CROSS WAS THE WAY!

Watch out:

The word of the world; yes it has much to say . . .

. . . Still the word of your life can be of much more worth.

If you share with the world to celebrate His birth

Tell the world it’s not Santa, but Jesus who says.

Go slowly and stop now at my cross today.

Salvation is there, accept it . . .

I LOVE YOU ALWAYS!

Such a small gift; so humble and so dear.

Could you possibly give it?

Could you be that bold?

Such a rich gift; so special and so near.

Could you possibly share it?

Could the truth be told?

Chance Eliminated

From Isaiah 43:1:  “But now thus says the Lord, He who created you, O Jacob, He who formed you, O Israel:  Do not fear, for I have redeemed you.”

Heavenly Father

Knowing what is best

His eternal presence

Leads man on his quest

Protection promised

Ford every river

Faith’s redeeming mercy

Spirit delivers

Encouragement brings

Restoration’s grace

Walking through every fire

Christ’s love to embrace

Precious in His sight

Hope fills cup, as planned

Chance eliminated

Gathered in God’s hands

Calling all nations

Eyes no longer blind

Accepting Father’s truth

Just as He designed

From Isaiah 43:9:  “Let all the nations gather together, and let the peoples assemble.  Who among them declared this and foretold to us the former things?  Let them bring their witnesses to justify them, and let them hear and say, ‘It is true.'”

Benjamin Harrison Quotes

The bud of victory is always in the truth.

We Americans have no commission from God to police the world.

Benjamin Harrison (1833-1901) was the 23rd American President. He is one of eight Presidents with roots in the state of Ohio.

Always at Work

From Job 12:13:  “With God are wisdom and strength; He has counsel and understanding.”

Photo by David Kanigan on Pexels.com

Creator’s morning scene

Always at work, His hands

Shaping, each masterpiece

All following, God’s command

Tranquility breathing

Always at work, God’s plan

Designing, each journey

All inviting, with each scan

God’s wisdom shadows truth

Always at work, strength speaks

Teaching, with every breath

All scaling, each mountain peak

Tomorrow’s story waits

Always at work, God’s script

Sketching, every new page

All leading, faith’s fresh transcript

Creator’s morning scene

Always at work, His light

Witnessing, darkness fades

All praising, Savior’s birthright

From the words of American pastor and Christian author, Charles Swindoll:  “Mark it down in permanent ink:  God is always at work.”

Faith’s Purpose

From Hosea 6:6:  “For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.”

Photo by Nigam Machchhar on Pexels.com

Heavenly Father desires

Man’s loyalty, share His light

Glory lifted high, filled with joy

Faith’s purpose, now taking flight

Heavenly Father’s witness

Man matures through truth, grace leads

Thirsty for His Word, at last quenched

Faith’s planting, each tender seed

Heavenly Father gathers

Man’s attention, seeking peace

Christ offers details, believe each one

Faith’s motives, Spirit’s mouthpiece

Heavenly Father’s calling

Man finds knowledge, full of hope

Honored relationship, with Him

Faith’s voyage, up periscope

From John 17:1-2:  “After Jesus had spoken these words, He looked up to heaven and said, ‘Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son so that the Son may glorify You, since You have given Him authority over all people, to give eternal life to all whom You have given Him.'”

Faith’s Cornerstone

From Isaiah 30:15:  “For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel:  In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.”

Photo by Cameron Yartz on Pexels.com

Father looks upon His design

His perfection draws each detail

Filling darkness with trusted light

Faith now strengthens, no longer frail

Father molds mercy’s truth to shine

His promises to be fulfilled

Sending Shepherd, care for His flock

Faith’s cornerstone, set to rebuild

Father plans enemy’s demise

His victory shall bring glory

Witnessing Teacher’s lesson plans

Faith refreshed with every story

Father pulls strings of righteousness

His forgiving love offers hope

Wiping away sin’s endless debt

Faith grips Savior’s eternal rope

Father calls out from Calvary

His boldness breathes with quiet might

Offering life through Jesus Christ

Faith’s peace, rising on heaven’s flight

From Isaiah 30:20-21:  “Though the Lord may give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide Himself any longer, but your eyes shall see your Teacher.  And when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left, your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.'”

Perseverance in Prayer

From Matthew 5:6:  “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”

Photo by Norma Mortenson on Pexels.com

Just as Jesus teaches

Praying to Father above

Asking in humbleness

Relationship filled with love

Blessed are those who hunger

Seeking truth’s fulfilling hope

Thirsting for righteousness

Father tightens up faith’s rope

Patience shall be required

Waiting for Father’s reply

Following Spirit’s light

View from eagle’s wings on high

Perseverance in prayer

Knocking on heavenly door

Searching for life’s answers

Father fills faith’s inner core

From Luke 11:9-10:  “So I say to you, Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.  For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.”

Monday Memories: Called to Sow

Photo by Binyamin Mellish on Pexels.com

Sower scattering any seed

Wildly without any foresight

God scatters His Word as planned

His aim, truthful in its flight

Called to sow His righteous seeds

Following a living light

Sharing of God’s Holy Word

Walking in Jesus’ delight

These efforts shall bear His fruit

Quenching the rich, fertile ground

God adds the living water

Patient, His trust to be found

Not every seed shall bloom now

Some will lie quiet and wait

Just as a pine cone pauses

Holds seeds for their proper fate

Spreading God’s Word to others

Using our freedom for good

Allowing Spirit to work

Sowing for Him as we should

Sharing love and forgiveness

Lord’s eternal Word aligned

Taking blessed, scattered seeds

Harvesting fruit of all kinds

From Isaiah 55:10-11:  “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there until they have watered the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”

We must look at the greatness, promises, and purposes of our God as revealed in His Word, because divine truth is our anchor in the storms of life.

From John 14:26-27:  “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I have said to you.  Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.  I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.”
