The youngest President ever elected in this land
Sending JFK with a new generation’s eager hands
President Kennedy challenges a waiting nation
Landing on the moon brings wonder and elation
Civil Rights for “all” people lights a hope-filled beam
Marching to Washington to hear “I Have a Dream”
Ford creates a flashy and stunning sports car
Rolling out the Mustang, best ‘lil pony by far
The British invade with innovative music to bring
Introducing the Beatles, their tunes endlessly sing
Southeast Asia slowly captures more of a nation’s time
Making Vietnam, a catalyst filling emotions that climb

Every man’s life ends the same way. It is only the details of how he lived and how he died that distinguish one man from another.

From Proverbs 3:26: “For the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.”
This early morning time
Brings moments of praise
Spirits gather to climb
Warmed by the sun’s rays
God’s Word speaks out
With wisdom and clout
Another day appears ready
Feet will not stumble
God’s Word marches steady
Never afraid to tumble
God’s Word speaks out
With wisdom and clout
For the humble receive
God’s favor and love
Avoid those who deceive
Look to Heaven above
God’s Word speaks out
With wisdom and clout
Arise, prepared for the Lord
He’s endlessly in control
Arming all with His sword
Leading us out on patrol
God’s Word speaks out
With wisdom and clout
This morn sings a song
Filling with God’s praises
One cannot be wrong
With Salvation, He raises
God’s Word speaks out
With wisdom and clout
Nourish us right now
God’s manna is ready
Take a knee and bow
He keeps us steady
God’s Word speaks out
With wisdom and clout
Our day comes alive
From God’s trusting light
Allowing us to thrive
‘Til day becomes night
God’s Word arrives at dawn
Always full, never gone

Curiosity is lying in wait for every aspect.
Psalm 106:1: “Praise the Lord! O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever.”

Life’s journey hurries along
Blessing with joy and her song
Remembering His blessings each day
Our mighty God molds us like clay
God crafts His creation with love
Offering His blessings from above
Rising from cold, darkened tomb
Christ restores light to every room
Filling with Spirit, no more strife
Savior extends His bread of life
Hiding, dark enemy ready to harm and take
Christ’s way conquers, with love He makes
Son of Man submits to our Holy Lord
Paying for sin’s ransom, so climb aboard
Being gracious for everything that shines
God, Savior, family, home, and love so fine
Life’s possessions are meager, they are
Blessings from God will carry us, truly far
Pause and consider, dropping to knees and bow
Praising God for infinite blessings, do it now
Psalm 29:11: May the Lord give strength to His people! May the Lord bless His people with peace.”

So curiosity, I think, is a really important aspect of staying young or youthful.
The Ridge beckons me
Bringing forward praise to God—
His Cathedral waits

Morning walk awaits
My favorite lady goes—
Sadie on a leash

On the backyard deck
Feverishly eating more—
Tiny chipmunk sits

Hello readers, here is a new weekly feature on Big Sky Buckeye. I will repost a previously published poem every Monday. Today’s post was one of the first poem’s written by yours truly. Enjoy a newly edited version about “Morning Coffee.”

Photo by Bryan Schneider on Pexels.com
Smelling the rich aroma on another early morn
Anticipating the initial taste, like being reborn
Certainly one cup will not be enough today
A second cup causes worries to fade away
As Dolly Parton sings, “Pour myself a cup of ambition”
Coffee will definitely be my regular morning addiction
Waking up on a chilly, frosty, dark day
Jumping out of bed to be on one’s way
Hurrying down to the kitchen, what is this?
No coffee? An empty morning without bliss!
Living in Christ brings believers true and faithful contentment. Apostle Paul writes much about experiencing content with our faith and remaining true to God’s calling. His writings inspire this poem.

Encourage others as God encourages each of us
Be forgiving toward others, adding to life’s plus
Give thanks for all of Father’s grace
Be His prayer warrior at every place
Allow Christ to shine through in all we do
Be filled with the Spirit, faithful and true
Hold dear to our hearts, all that is good
Be thankful to God, as we always should
Fiery ordeals and daily trials will always challenge all
Be an eyewitness to Christ’s sufferings, never to fall
God is sovereign and forever in control of it all
Be aware, all things work together, forever tall
When God’s glory is finally revealed on that day
Be shouting with amazing grace, sing as we may
We bring nothing into this world we live
Be content with little, the rest God gives
The love of money brings evil times
Be taking nothing, not even a dime
Bring together godliness with contentment
Be willing to follow every Commandment
Despite our weaknesses, Christ dwells within thee
Be content with calamities and hardships we see
God’s Grace is sufficient for everyone
Be thankful for the sacrifice of His Son
Christ resides in our hearts, He yearns to save
Be strengthened with blood and body He gave
Always rely on God’s strength and mighty clout
Be content, following His Word, never in doubt
Love of Christ surpasses all that we ever see
Be grateful and shower blessings, take a knee
How does God’s Word bring you contentment? Does a special verse of Scripture sing out to you?
