This series of poems (written in the German-inspired style of Elfchen or Elevenie) shares a total of eleven words in each poem, with a sequence by line of one, two, three, four, and one words.
From Isaiah 55:10-11: “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there until they have watered the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”
From John 7:37-38: “On the last day of the festival, the great day, while Jesus was standing there, He cried out, ‘Let anyone who is thirsty come to Me, and let the one who believes in Me drink.’ As the scripture has said, ‘Out of the believer’s heart shall flow rivers of living water.'”
From Revelation 22:1-3: “Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city. On either side of the river is the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, producing its fruit each month, and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. Nothing accursed will be found there any more. But the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His servants will worship Him.”
From Psalm 86:2-3: “Preserve my life, for I am devoted to You;save Your servant who trusts in You. You are my God; be gracious to me, O Lord, for to You do I cry all day long.”
From Psalm 86:11-12: “Teach me Your way, O Lord, that I may walk in Your truth;give me an undivided heart to revere Your name. I give thanks to You, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify Your name forever.”
From Psalm 9:1-2: “I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;I will tell of all Your wonderful deeds I will be glad and exult in You;I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.”
From Psalm 9:9-10: “The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed,a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know Your name put their trust in You,for You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.”
From 1 Timothy 6:6-8: “Of course, there is great gain in godliness combined with contentment, for we brought nothing into the world, so that we can take nothing out of it, but if we have food and clothing, we will be content with these.”
From 1 Timothy 6:13-14: “In the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who in His testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you to keep the commandment without spot or blame until the manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
