The simple fact is this: If we sow a lifestyle that is in direct disobedience to God’s revealed Word, we ultimately reap disaster.
From Romans 6:15: “What then? Should we sin because we are not under the law, but under grace? By no means!”
You have not chosen one another, but I have chosen you for one another.
There is no greater happiness for a man than approaching a door at the end of a day knowing someone on the other side of that door is waiting for the sound of his footsteps.
As we wait for Jesus to return, He invites us to join Him in the work of making peace in the world.
From Romans 5:1: “Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.
One man with conviction will overwhelm a hundred who have only opinions.
We need to learn this secret of the burning heart. When God gives a vision, transact business on that line, no matter what it costs.
From Luke 24:30-32: [On the road to Emmaus] “When He was at the table with them, He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized Him; and He vanished from their sight. They said to each other, ‘Were not our hearts burning within us while He was talking to us on the road, while He was opening the scriptures to us?'”
Mysteries simply are a feast for an active mind.
Conquest is easy. Control is not.
We cannot kindle when we will
The fire which in the heart resides,
The spirit bloweth and is still,
In mystery our soul abides;
But tasks in hours or insight will’d
Can be through hours of gloom fulfill’d

Two wings are necessary to lift our souls toward God: prayer and praise. Prayer asks. Praise accepts the answer.
From Hebrews 13:15-16: “Through Him, then, let us continually offer a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that confess His name. Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”
Some stuff can be fixed, some stuff can’t be. Deciding which is which is part of maturing.
My biggest accomplishment has been making a transition from athlete to author.
There are seeds of self-destruction in all of us that will bear only unhappiness if allowed to grow.
From 2 Peter 1:5-7: “For this very reason, you must make every effort to support your faith with goodness, and goodness with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with godliness, and godliness with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love.”
