Novalis Quotes

Life must not be a novel that is given to us, but one that is made by us.

Poetry heals the wounds inflicted by reason.

Novalis was the pen name for Georg Philipp Friedrich Freiherr von Hardenberg (1772-1801).  He was a German novelist, philosopher, and poet.  He became best known for his mystical and philosophical writings.

Narrative’s Precious Tale

Photo by lgg pics on Pexels.com

Searching for quiet respite

Following dreams, each detail

Escaping from mankind’s noise

Finding narrative’s hidden trail

Crossing nearby forest bridge

Forgetting work’s last email

Arriving at paradise

Sweeping away narrative’s veil

Discovering prairie ahead

Saddling up, each thought exhales

Envisioning where time stands

Framing narrative’s rhythmic scale

Scanning landscape’s tranquil scene

Treasuring every inhale

Climbing each majestic peak

Flying narrative’s parasail

Grasping reins tightly in hands

Riding forward to prevail

Looking for more tomorrow’s

Writing narrative’s precious tale

River’s Glory

Photo by Mike van Schoonderwalt on Pexels.com

From high mountain meadow

River begins fateful trip

One mile follows another

Flowing at steady clip

Creator’s light precedes

Clear path to river’s glory

Journey shaping each landscape

Scripting nature’s story

Time shall never stand still

River’s persistence will win

Always forward to its goal

Streaming patience within

Day will come, very soon

River sets up final score

Faithful waters running free

Asking for nothing more

Ocean’s waters ahead

Finish line in river’s sight

Peace traveling through its pulse

Pulling eternal might

Retelling His Story

From Lamentations 3:22-23:  “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

Retelling His story

Filling with wonder’s peace

Becoming never old

Rekindling life’s new lease

Witnessing His message

Loving God with whole heart

Grasping forever’s grace

Walking with Lord’s fresh start

Retelling His story

Sitting near empty tomb

Sharing Salvation’s news

Lighting yesterday’s gloom

Tasting His Holy Word

Longing for heaven’s home

Hungering for much more

Breaking chains, free to roam

Retelling His story

Finding Jesus nearby

Seeking new mercy’s grace

Cherishing faith’s bullseye

This inspiration for this poem comes from the beloved hymn, “I Love to Tell the Story.”  One of any believers most blessed tasks is to share and tell the story of Jesus Christ.  Country singer Alan Jackson is a renowned Gospel singer, and he sings this wonderful hymn.  Enjoy.

Boris Cyrulnik Quotes

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story.

No story is innocent.  To tell is to put oneself in danger.  To remain silent is to isolate yourself.

Boris Cyrulnik (born 1937) is a French physician and writer.  He has written several books about the science of psychology.  As a child, he survived the Holocaust when his family was captured.
