God invites us to come directly into His presence by way of His own dear Son.

From John 14:6:  “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.'”

W. Phillip Keller (1920-1997) was born in Africa as the son of missionary parents.  His life’s mission would allow him to become a world citizen as a photographer, agronomist, and Christian author.

Rooted in Light

From Psalm 92:1-2:  “It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to Your name, O Most High, to declare Your steadfast love in the morning and Your faithfulness by night.”

Father in Heaven

Praising His blessed name

Eternity’s hope

Love lights redemption’s flame

Father, O Most High

Sharing His steadfast love

Each morning and night

Rooted in light above

Father, Lord of Hosts

Blessing with mercy’s hand

Depth of love’s light

Just as He always planned

Father’s grace offered

Calling Son’s love to serve

Eyes opened to light

Salvation shall preserve

Father’s promised path

Shredding darkness with light

Christ rises from death

Righteous love taking flight

From John 8:12:  “Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.'”

Whenever we search out biblical truth about Christ–and we find it in Leviticus as well as in Luke–we are turning our leaves toward the light.

From Leviticus 24:1-4:  “The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ‘Command the Israelites to bring you pure oil of beaten olives for the lamp, that a light may be kept burning regularly.  Aaron shall set it up in the tent of meeting, outside the curtain of the covenant, to burn from evening to morning before the Lord regularly; it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations.  He shall set up the lamps on the lampstand of pure gold before the Lord regularly.'”

Our culture says, “Don’t let anyone push you around,” but Jesus teaches that it is the merciful, the weak, and the peacemakers who are successful in God’s Kingdom.

From Matthew 5:5-9:  “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.  Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.  Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.  Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.  Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”

Charles Stanley (1932-2023) was an American pastor and Christian writer.  He was dedicated to leading a teaching ministry.

Monday Memories: Anthem of Grace

From Hebrews 11:1:  “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

Weary times, filled with quiet tears

Witnessing mankind’s cruelest hurts

Hate, division, violence, fears

God’s grace, peace, love . . . never deserts

When witnessing injustice, stand

Lift up voices, sing with passion

Offer a loving, helping hand

Filled with oneness and compassion

No longer sit with thoughts muzzled

Liberty-filled harmonies ring

God’s grace flows, days never puzzled

Loud as roaring seas, let us sing

God’s Word lighting eternal fires

Inside our faith, unwavering

Hope fills each heart, never expires

Teachings of Jesus, favoring

Jesus always front and center

Faithfully walking as His feet

Loving as His hands, our mentor

Marching on, His grace ever sweet

From 1 John 5:3-5:  “For the love of God is this, that we obey His commandments.  And His commandments are not burdensome, for whatever is born of God conquers the world.  And this is the victory that conquers the world, our faith.  Who is it that conquers the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”

With Each Sunrise

From Psalm 118:21-22:  “I thank you that You have answered me and have become my salvation.  The stone that the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.”

Reminded with each sunrise

Praise Resurrection’s light

Redemption rises with Christ

Witness empty tomb at daylight

Gates of righteousness opened

Rejoice, be glad in it

Salvation’s final answer

At Calvary, Christ’s love submits

Freed from sin by Savior’s blood

Spirit stirs within man

Nourished with His mercy’s peace

Promises fulfilled through God’s plan

Each step, filled with repentance

Mercy always present

Believe in faith’s risen Lord

Gathered in prayer, as He meant

Follow Shepherd’s tender voice

Path ahead, filled with love

Grace shall cleanse, power to free

Truth speaks from Heaven’s throne above

From John 20:26-27:  “A week later his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them.  Although the doors were shut, Jesus came and stood among them and said, ‘Peace be with you.’  Then He said to Thomas, ‘Put your finger here and see My hands. Reach out your hand and put it in My side.  Do not doubt but believe.'”

Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus” will be nothing compared to the myriad of angels who will sing in antiphonal voice as we join them in praises to the Lamb of God.

From Revelation 5:11-12:  “Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels surrounding the throne and the living creatures and the elders; they numbered myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, singing with full voice, ‘Worthy is the Lamb that was slaughtered to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!'”

When you speak and represent the person of Jesus Christ in all actions of your life, people are drawn to that.  You set the standard with your actions.

From 2 Corinthians 3:18:  “And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another, for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit.”

Kurt Warner (born 1977) is a former American professional football player.  As a Christian, he has regularly praised the positive influence of God in his life, along with his family and teammates.

Now Traveling Light

From Psalm 55:22:  “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved.”

Life’s stumbling footsteps

Sullen heart weighed down

Darkness at doorstep

Day’s final breakdown

Burdens never light

Load much too heavy

Collapsing at night

Floodwaters’ levee

Spirit’s tiresome tone

Christ walks alongside

Merciful seeds sown

Faith breathing, clear-eyed

Shelter’s welcome place

Prayer’s trusted reach

Overflowing grace

Christ’s faithful outreach

With every new day

Worry taking flight

Christ’s open gateway

Now traveling light

From Matthew 11:28-30:  “Come to Me, all you who are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.”
