We are weaving the future on the loom of today.
There are times when encouragement means a lot, and a word is enough to convey it.

Reaching out from Christ
Witness

Nourished
With goodness
Light’s eternal journey
Blessings through Christ’s love
Faith

This series of poems (written in the German-inspired style of Elfchen or Elevenie) shares a total of eleven words in each poem, with a sequence by line of one, two, three, four, and one words.

Vastness of oceans deep
Swimming with endless wonders
Encouraging what world should keep
Heavens answer with thunder
Vastness of universe
Swimming with infinite stars
Encouraging nature’s free verse
Heavens address from afar
Vastness of instinct flows
Swimming to every shoreline
Encouraging children, let’s grow
Heavens praise learning’s outline
Vastness of human mind
Swimming toward tomorrow
Encouraging love, always kind
Heavens remove all sorrow
Vastness of creation
Swimming with unending light
Encouraging every nation
Heavens transform man’s foresight

Writing poetry allows the creator to take a theme and journey into the depth of its wonders.
Knocking
Each day
Seeking Father’s voice
Perseverance follows trusted choices
Praying

Asking
Yet, nothing
Humble thy heart
Now aligned with Father
Answering

Finding
Father’s light
Adopting fresh attitude
Growth in spiritual landscape
Trusting

From Hebrews 3:12-13: “Take care, brothers and sisters, that none of you may have an evil, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” so that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.”

Liberty shall be defined
Opportunity arrives
Sharing peace from Jesus Christ
Future’s hope breathing alive
Unconditional spirit
Encouragement’s blessed Word
Turning toward Father’s grace
Benevolence always stirred
Present sufferings shall fade
New creation waits for all
Finding joy in light’s freedom
Chains of sin’s bondage shall fall
Faith’s blessed door now opens
Love invites all to enter
Hearing Father’s steady voice
Mercy waits at room’s center
All peace shines from Son’s goodness
Justified by Father’s hand
Walking in darkness no more
Light’s hope will forever stand

From 1 John 1:5: “This is the message we have heard from Him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all.”
From Hebrews 10:22: “Let us approach with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”

Accepting Christ as Savior
Truth filling with His light
His blood pays for each sin
Mercy enriched, forthright
Witnessing wholeness of faith
Christ’s righteousness, must trust
Prayer’s voice guides changes
Victory over evil’s lust
Experiencing healing
Now taking deeper breaths
Christ offers lasting hope
Triumph rising from death
Encouraging each other
Horizon’s promised fate
From Gospel’s saving grace
Forgiveness offers clean slate
Walking in Christ’s light each day
No longer lost, but found
Peace breathes with every step
Faith forever heaven bound

From Hebrews 10:38-39: “but my righteous one will live by faith. My soul takes no pleasure in anyone who shrinks back. But we are not among those who shrink back and so are lost but among those who have faith and so preserve our souls.”
From Romans 15:13: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Life’s journey suddenly growing cold
Living under clouds of uncertainty
No longer feeling confident and bold
Even confident people possess fears
Overcome by unplanned dilemmas
Feeling much like the rest of our peers
Our faithful prayers will be heard
God’s will scatters those stormy clouds
Never lose hope, listen to His Word
As neighbors, our love supports each other
Through our steadfast encouragement
Children of God, true sisters and brothers
Tackling problems on life’s clipboard
Filled with determination and courage
Walking in confidence with our Lord

From the words of German-Dutch Christian author, Thomas a Kempis: “Oh, how great peace and quietness would he possess who should cut off all vain anxiety and place all his confidence in God.”

Discouraged people don’t need critics. They hurt enough already. They need encouragement. They need a refuge–a willing, caring, available someone.
From Proverbs 25:11: “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.”

The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches, but to reveal to him his own.
From Hebrews 10:24-25: “And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Benjamin Disraeli (1804-1881) served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom on two different occasions (1868, 1874-1880).
From Philippians 2:1-2: “If, then, there is any comfort in Christ, any consolation from love, any partnership in the Spirit, any tender affection and sympathy, make my joy complete: be of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.”

Blessed encouragement
Resurrection’s light beams
Found in Savior Jesus
Redemption runs downstream
Being of same spirit
Heart’s beat filled with His love
Christ teaches righteousness
World finds peace from above
Acceptance of God’s will
Conscience stirs to confirm
Each element born in Christ
Faith’s trust breathes to affirm
Father always at work
Eternal light burns bright
Salvation finds its home
Tomorrow’s hope holds tight
Within every blessing
Enlightened with God’s Way
Holy Spirit defines
Obedience replays

From Philippians 2:12-13: “Therefore, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed me, not only in my presence but much more now in my absence, work on your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who is at work in you, enabling you both to will and to work for His good pleasure.”
