Country roads, take me home, to a place I belong.
What one man can do is dream. What one man can do is love. What one man can do is change the world.

Country roads, take me home, to a place I belong.
What one man can do is dream. What one man can do is love. What one man can do is change the world.

When we trust God to provide the stamina for the work He calls us to do, we are clothed in power.
From Luke 24:49: “And see, I am sending upon you what my Father promised; so stay here in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

It’s OK to be outspoken about your faith.
I’m not perfect. I’m never going to be. And that’s the great thing about living the Christian life and trying to live by faith, is you’re trying to get better every day.

That is the mystery which is rich in divine grace to sinners: wherein by a wonderful exchange our sins are no longer ours but Christ’s and the righteousness of Christ is not Christ’s but ours.
From 2 Corinthians 5:20-21: “So we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making His appeal through us; we entreat you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.”

To walk by faith does not mean to stop thinking. Acting foolishly or thoughtlessly, expecting God to bail you out if things go amiss, isn’t faith at all. It is presumption.
From Hebrews 11:6: “And without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever would approach Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.”

Christ is like a river that is continually flowing. There are always fresh supplies of water coming from the fountain-head, so that a man may live by it and be supplied with water all his life.
From Romans 8:38-39: “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

If you’re not grateful for what you already have, why should you be blessed with more.
Say something worthwhile and people will listen.

There are times when we simply don’t feel like praying–and that is when we need to pray the most.
From Psalm 32:6-7: “Therefore let all who are faithful offer prayer to you; at a time of distress, the rush of mighty waters shall not reach them. You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with glad cries of deliverance.”

Take care lest you play the hypocrite by spending all your time trying to get others right before you worship God yourself.
From 1 John 5:16-17: “If we say that we have fellowship with Him while we are walking in darkness, we lie and do not do what is true.”

Who is wise? He that learns from everyone.
Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.
Much of Franklin’s wisdom was shared in his published pamphlet, “Poor Richard’s Almanack,” which appeared continually from 1732 to 1758. He adopted the pseudonym of “Poor Richard” or “Richard Saunders” as the publisher and author.
