Valvano was the coach of the mens basketball team at North Carolina State. His energized motivation led his players to an NCAA championship.

could be because he did not live long, he died at the age of 47 I believe in 1993, truly sad. Just like Drazen Petrovic, would have been fun to see what they could have accomplished with some more years on this planet.

Jim, I totally agree with you. I can see remember him running around the basketball court when his team won the NCAA title. But he saved his best moments for later in his life.
