Integrity makes my job easier. It’s deception and dishonesty that requires so much diligent effort.
I’ve never felt like you could develop character without adversity.
American football coach Bobby Bowden (1929-2021) coached the Florida State Seminoles from 1976 to 2009. He is considered to be one of college football’s greatest coaches. Being a Christian, Bowden credited his success in coaching to his faith.
I agree, about “adversity”–if nothing happens to test your faith, how do you know you have any?? And you stop being superficial really fast, when you’ve had some hard blows…and known the faithfulness of God to lift you back up. I don’t even recognize the person I am, compared to the old me–it’s made me a believer in the transforming power of God’s Holy Spirit–Hallelujah!!

Amen! The transforming Holy Spirit is one of the Lord’s most precious gifts. It feeds our faith when we need it most.

I absolutely LOVE that quote. I will have to write it down, it resounded so much with me. Thank you for sharing it. I wrote a Memoir based on facing adversity and when I look back on my life, I wouldn’t be the strong woman I am without it.
